Did it just like Naked Whiz showed. Loved "The Chicken". Didn't like the vegetables. Need more than just sitting underneath "The Chicken". Good cook on the bird though.Clarendon Hills, IL

I am planning on just doing "TheChicken". not vegetables
-
Only one opinion, it looks like not many people have cooked "The Chicken"
-
Watch the crushed red pepper. I use same recipe but use about 2 tbs. paprika instead of crushed red pepper.

This is a place that I went to Nashville Tennessee and it sounds like "The Chicken"is similar to this place..... I can eat very hot, spicy food but someone told me to order the medium which I did and the medium was super hot........http://www.yelp.com/biz/princes-hot-chicken-shack-nashville

I have not cooked "The Chicken" yet, but have book marked it now for a future cook. Let us know how it turns out. Oh ya.........pics or it didn't happen.Bristow Virginia XL&Mini One of the best feelings in life is watching other people enjoy the food I cooked!

Don't get me wrong, the recipe as is is great but the heat may be above some folks' spice tolerance. I've cut down the spicy ingredients by as much as 50% and it still turned out great. Oh, save the sauce in the fridge, it's great as dipping sauce for other dishes.canuckland

John,
It is very good. The sauce can be used in a lot of dishes. The skin will not be crispy but it is an incredible flavour. Randy hit tje long ball with that one.

Was not a fan. Sauce was good. Technique left me scratching my head. I don't understand why you would bread something and not make it crispy. It felt really soggy and doughy to me. Maybe I didn't do it right.
I did really like the sauce though. It was definitely worth making the dish just to discover the sauce.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX -

Everybody should agree with centex. He is always right. And when he's not, he's always awesome.AppStateDDS said:I agree with cen tex, I like the sauce but not the product overall.

The sauce is good for chicken wings. Been awhile since I have done it though since franks and butter is also hood for chicken wings and a little easier.
-
I have cooked it twice and like it. It is a strong, vinegar flavor so not for everyone. I don't crave it but like it on occasion.
-
I loved the sauce (I like vinegar and spice). I used chicken thighs however this is something I will do in the oven next time. I can get my oven fried chicken to taste like fried chicken. The skin, cooked on the Egg was not the same, not as crispy
-
The Sauce is amazing and I put it on almost everything
I thicken it up with cornstarch
adding some yogurt to it makes the greatest wing diping sauce ... ( your welcome )

Very versatile recipe. I also don't usually roast the veggies underneath since The Chicken lovers in our house demand potato salad be served with it. Here's a pic I posted of one of my cooks on another thread about Adjustable Rigs. Mine always turn out very crispy.

Thanks, thailandjohn. For you guys that are having a problem with getting the skin crispy, try using self-rising flour instead of all purpose. I use all purpose for many things, but for chicken, I always use self-rising flour.
