Ketchup or Catsup. I like both on my dogs. Dollar hotdog night at the Ranger games is when I embarrass my wife by trying to consume a dog an inning.

    Ok,

    1. I got the point right away, That my friends is actual food porn

    2. There is not much better on a hotdog, frankfurter whatever than a good ketchup, but NEVER     NEVER on a steak!!

On meatloaf, its killer. If you can find it in your area try the Heinz special varieties the jalapeno ketchup and the balsamic ketchup are off the hook!!!

I guess I should ask what is the deal with ketchup? Is there a inside joke that I'm not in on? I did some googling and from what I gather it's the number one selling condiment in the world. I'm going to be honest here. I love ketchup on just about any and every thing. So what's the deal my friends? Just curious.
Was wondering the same thing. Maybe it's a regional thing. Unless it's a chili dog, i put ketchup on every dog i've ever eaten.

I eat hot dogs with ketchup and wash it down with Budweiser.

The damn thing is made out of scrap meat wrapped in intestines. Don't tell me how to eat one properly or how it's soooooo wrong to eat one of those intestines with ketchup on top! Oh and to wash it down with Budweiser. I'm sure I'll catch crap for drinking the wrong beer that wasn't brewed in some cousins basement and aged for two years!

Eat whatever you want and drink whatever you like. Hell, I eat Mac and Cheese and applesauce together. If you don't like it that's too damn bad! :)) In all seriousness, I'm down with ketchup!

OMG, Budweiser?!?!  Clearly, you don't know how to drink.  You're one of those RO guys.....amateur. ;)

Frozen Fest is all about sipping a max of 4 craft beers per day, savoring each little sip and bite of egged food.  Thought you knew.  :D

    @Focker‌
I hate it when people drink alcohol and have fun! I mean who wants to drink shots out of a shotski anyways? :)) Never enough food and salads at Frozen Fest. Plus the egg takes too long to warm up between meals. I suggest we all bring gassers next year instead. ;)

How you liking the Ozark Oak?

No ketchup here.  I'm a mustard man myself.  But... I have to admit I like the picture by the OP!

Edited to add:  I knew someone who did put Ketchup on a hot dog.  In the words of Sienfeld:  There is nothing wrong with that!

I'll use ketchup on my dogs in the privacy of my own home, but I live too close to Chicago to risk doing so in public.

Is that one of them fancy gourmet cream filed dogs?
My 5 year old puts ketchup on on everything, even the nice steaks I cook.  He has only eaten one of my steaks without ketchup.  I like ketchup and a lot of other things on hotdogs, especially chili, but I haven't had one for a while.

If you like the original intent of this thread, buy the book "Rude Food" by David Thorpe. It came out in the seventies but you can still relate (or is that felate) today. When I was single I used to leave it on the coffee table for my guest to read while I was in the kitchen. After dinner was always entertaining!!

    Ketchup with a Kick

Our Srirachup is handmade, using about two pounds of freshly-picked organic California tomatoes. Don’t let the natural sweetness of our early girl tomatoes fool you. Paired with our fiery house-made sriracha, this well-balanced ketchup gives your taste buds a spicy kick and leaves you begging for more...

INGREDIENTS: Organic California tomatoes, organic chili peppers, organic apple cider vinegar, organic brown sugar, sea salt, and organic garlic.

No paste. No High Fructose Corn Syrup. Non-GMO, locally grown produce. Gluten-Free. No Artificial Preservatives.

    For mustard my favorite is

Lusty Monk “Original Sin” Mustard: how mustard is supposed to taste. This old-style, coarse-ground, original recipe mustard will add a kick to anything you can put on a plate. We process our mustards to preserve the volatile oils that make mustard so heavenly. It’s habit forming. Really

I've always found the debate over what to put on a hot dog amusing. It's not like its quality food. Lips and a$$holes, man, lips and a$$holes.

Next you'll be telling me I can't put ketchup on my flown in fresh Maine lobster. =))

In all seriousness, I once read an article where a master sushi chef said he cringes anytime somebody mixes in wasabi with their soy sauce and dunks sushi in it without tasting it first. That I can understand. Why source the best, fresh seafood, carefullly prepare it only to have some customer drown out all the flavors with salt and heat?

@Griffin, however my thoughts are if I'm paying for it out of my hard earned money it's no ones F'ng business what I do LOL.......Kinda like Scotch snobs, drink what you like, I'll drink what I like. I don't let society or anyone else dictate what I like. Many blind tastings (Whisky, Wine, Beer etc)  have shown that people pick cheaper booze many times when they can't see the label. As soon as they see labels they all of the sudden like premium booze LOL

the Japanese don't dunk the whole piece of sushi in the soy/wasabi mix. In deference to the chef's skills they just tip the tiniest corner into the mix, just to get the taste buds going for the rest.

I agree @KenfromMI I've been known to put ketchup, mustard and relish on a dog before. I've also mixed Jack, Bullet, Knob Creek and Maker's with Coke It's my money, I'll do what I want with it.

I will say that back in college when I worked at a bar, I had a young gentleman come in, obviously on a first date, trying to impress a young lady. He ordered a Johnny Walker Blue and Coke. I gave him a shot of the blue and a half filled glass of Coke and said "it's your money, but I wouldn't mix a $100 scotch (that's what we charged) with Coke. You can go ahead and do that yourself." Now, I've never had Blue (I was one of the Baylor kids that had to work through college and scrounge up money, no umlimited credit card from Mommy and Daddy), but even I know that is wrong.

@TUTTLE871 Nope. The owner kept an eye on that bottle. He was pretty cool and would let us have a few drinks when we closed. Mostly beer Sometimes even breaking out Blanton's, but never the Blue.

My buddy gets a bottle of blue every year for Christmas from one of his suppliers . He doesn't drink Scotch so he gives it to me. To be 100% honest I like Johnnie Walker Black better. Some of the flavors I like in Scotch get aged out in the blue. I drink mostly single malts but Johnnie Walker Black will always have a place in my heart. It was the first Scotch I tried and the only one I drank for about 7 or 8 years until I started experimenting with single malts. Blue in Michigan is about $200 a bottle.
