Brining wings?

Does anyone brine there chicken wings or is it unnecessary?
Doing a clean burn right now and listening to some coldplay while sipping a Hoegaarden and remembered that my last batch of wings were kinda tough/hard and thought that brining may help?? Doing some buffalo wings later.
what y'all think?

I cant see why it would be necessary.

Raised direct maybe at 400 or so but we get small birds here so maybe I overcooked em ?Hows ya gettin' on, me ol ****?Kippens.Newfoundland and Labrador. (Canada).

I marinate my wings for a long period of time and I find a 4 hour brine in coarse kosher salt removes the natural chicken grease in the skin so that once rinsed off well then the marinade is absorbed more thoroughly clear to the bone!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

On wings it's not necessary at all. It won't hurt a thing if you chose to do it. Just not necessary.

Canman1976 Try indirect at 350-400 ?
I have had amazing success with this method .
That said I like a dry rubbed wing that is crunchy , I am not into wet wings .
they usually take 45- 1 hour .
if your birds are smaller than less time obviously.

I do it when I have time. It's definitely better but subtle. I can tell you when my wife and kids told me "this is it, never do wings any other way again" they were brined.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

Whats up with some words in this thread being underlined with links to crap advertisenments??Is it only on my end?Hows ya gettin' on, me ol ****?Kippens.Newfoundland and Labrador. (Canada).

Much depends on where you get your wings. Most grocery store wings are already "pumped up" so brining is not needed. Organic or local wings will benefit from a brine. I eat mine dry, so i notice it, SWMBO slathers in sauce, so it doesn't matter.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!
