How come Apple has not figured out how their camera works? Or am I missing something. A LOT of pics are sideways or upside down here.

I guess its the rain, pissing me off.

You should have just fed them. Is it really worth it or a "I've been to" thing?

Don't know why that silly comment made me laugh out loud........but, it did!!! :))
  • I wouldn't wait in a line like that for brisket. On the other hand, most of the people in that line probably couldn't (or don't) smoke a brisket.

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

Henapple's is a longer drive than your wait.  Looks like some repeat customers - I see folding chairs.

FWIW, if I happened to be within a couple of hours of Franklin's, I probably would get in line. Either I would be awed, and have a very high standard to shoot at, or disappointed, and not feel so bad about my brisket. Must admit, I suppose it would be the first result.

Dude, I'll be disappointed if you don't drop by la casa or at least meet up somewhere for some Nawlins-style debauchery.

  • Ok........4.5 hours ..........it was unreal. I have never had or even heard of better. I have to say- 4.5 hours is an insane time to wait for anything (hell, my kids were born in less time) but this was by far the best I have ever had. Period. I couldn't cook a brisket like this if I tried. Holy cow.

Love to join ya.  Double check the dates and let me know, I'll put it on the calendar.  I've eaten at R'evolution three times and have yet to put a dent in exploring their menu.

You sure the 4.5 hour wait didn't make them taste better?  Pond water tastes like Perrier to a dehydrated man.

You could have brought them here. Bloody Marys while waiting 4 hours makes my brisket awesome.

One of the guys I took told me he's been looking forward to it for 6 weeks. He said this is the one time in his life that something he was looking so forward to actually exceeded the hype. It was even better than I remember.

It didn't have anything to do with the wait. It was otherworldly. Every single person at the table said it was they best they had ever had and there was no close 2nd.

Aaron was there and sat down with us for a bit. The guys were raving and he was very humble about it all. He said he has nightmares about not being able to live up to the hype. He said in his wildest dreams he never thought it would have come to this. He just hoped he could feed his family.

Im happy for him.......but damn I wish the lines were shorter. We are supposed to go out for steak tonight........I don't think thats gonna happen.

I am still waiting for my brisket from CenTex from last years Fest. My wait has exceeded his wait and I sure as hell expect good brisket.
Salado TX & 30A  FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.
