    I want one for my XL but does it matter if I have the old style top? I haven't determined for sure yet which I have as it is a used unit. Also, the only grill I have right now is the cast iron Craycort. If it will work taking into consideration these to variables, I definitely want one too. Can paypal.

    @1310monster - if you're not sure if you have the old squat dome, look at the pics in this post: http://eggheadforum.com/discussion/958712/new-xl-vs-old-xl-comparison-photo

    Which dome looks like yours? CGS has a way to measure grid to dome height to determine your dome style: http://www.ceramicgrillstore.com/original-flip-ring-a-hangar.html

    Perhaps if @alton can post the extender height, you can decide if it'll work for you.

    MCN - please put me down for 2. PayPal would be good for me. Thx guys for coordinating this!

  • I'm curious, do you think it is high enough to do decent size butts on both levels?  Thanks for info and all the work setting this up.

    The other thing about this I like is that the grids will be SS and will not rust. Have no idea if the height will be adjustable, but that's fine. You can add subtract other stuff to make that happen.

    @aviator

    just to make sure we are on the same page, it is only the black attachment that is pictured, does not come with any grids, you can add whatever kind you want, but the BGE stainless ones are sturdier and the ones that the product is made for, also works with cast iron grate.

    Do you think this item would work with a small BGE? And if so what would be the set up?

    Yep, we git it. I was commenting on another that is available. Sure, even with the BGE grids, this is so doable.

    Just looking at the pics I don't see how the height would be adjustable...but I could be wrong.

    Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

    The product info states you use your egg size for the bottom grate, and one size smaller for the top grate.

    small egg grate for the bottom level, mini egg grate for the top grate.  I have a small and will be trying this as well.
