These don’t strike me as the words of a man who understands much of anything:

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!! OMG, he has to be the absolute dumbest individual in history.  With how evil he is, imagine what he could accomplish if he weren’t the dumbest motherfucker.

Ooff, looked into more of the details of Trump's Deal with Iran:

Obama's carefully crafted deal over 20 months (with no US soldier deaths or Iranian civilian deaths) released $1.7bn in frozen funds to Iran and allowed effective monitoring of their program to ensure they did not enrich uranium - and was very effective program.

Trump's deal involved 14 US soldier deaths, 400 US soldiers injured and ~3,000 Iranian civilians killed and over $50bn spent to date. Now, Trump is offering to release $20bn in frozen assets to Iran in exchange for their current unenriched uranium stockpile. A one time payment for a one time delivery without monitoring or other assurances.

Iran will have $20bn, a younger more hardline government, and a populace that saw the USA threaten to annihilate them, destroy civilian targets, and bombed them without mercy for a month (including a school for young girls)?  Iran realizes now they can survive every thing the USA can throw at them - Trump said we showed them everything we had and they we destroyed them countless times.

They also realize that their key is not nuclear weapons, but the strait or Hormuz. So they are angry, injured, and have $20bn to pivot to controlling the Strait of Hormuz?

Everyone else in the world now has a blueprint on how to survive the USA in a war.

Is that the art of the deal?

I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Some writings from Dave Pell today:

"The Strait of Hormuz seems to be open. The US blockade remains in place until a final deal is reached. Iran has agreed to never close the Strait again. And the US and Iran will work together to collect the country’s enriched uranium, which will then be brought to the US. Does that all sound too good to be true? Can we say with a strait face that we’re getting the strait skinny from a source not exactly known for being a strait shooter? It may take a little while to be sure (and months to hammer out a complete deal). And we’re getting some very different quotes about the negotiations from Iranian officials. As BBC reports: “The president’s optimism may end up well-founded. But if that turns out not to be the case, it wouldn’t be the first time his words have moved ahead of the reality on the ground.” (If his words meet reality, does that mean we’ve reached the singularity?) But for now, the market definitely wants to believe. Oil prices are down, stocks are up, and the ceasefire is holding. Here’s the latest from BBCNBC, and The Guardian.

+ The war has cost the US lives, money, and international trust and status. So what will we get in exchange for that? Ultimately, for those dealing with reality on a regular basis, the outcome will be measured against what we already had. A few weeks ago, we had an open strait not being controlled by Iran. And a few years ago, we had a working nuclear agreement that was being constantly verified by international inspectors. Trump famously tore up the agreement that included this: “Iran reaffirms that under no circumstances will Iran ever seek, develop, or acquire any nuclear weapons.” (Maybe we should have fought this war with a roll of Scotch Tape.)"

I’m pretty sure if any other US President had tried something like this, they’d be run out of town by their own supporters.   With Trump, MAGA nation just claps as their own money is stolen from them and everyone else.

It’s almost like Trump killed the leadership he was trying to negotiate with and then has to contend with multiple different factions all
    with different goals?

In 20 years, we’ll be cutting a deal with the Taliban just like the last time.

Consumer gets nothing back, even though costs were passed onto them.  Businesses get refunds.

Taxpayers pay the refund, because Trump lined all his cronies pockets with the proceeds.

MAGA still don’t realize how tariffs work and who actually pays them - they are so clueless they do not realize it was a massive tax they paid.

No losses though because of oil shorting and Polymarket, though right?
Unless the shooting starts again this afternoon the conditions are optimal as no multi-million pound single use items are being fired or loss of life (and I believe thats the order they think in), but a controlled volatile market to exploit.

I remember when those that practiced front running at least tried to hide their trades.  Seems kind of quaint compared to now.  Or I'm old and looking at the past through rose colored glasses.

The good news is the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), led by independent director(s) will be investigating.  Oh, wait . . .

Paying informants who are passing you info from the inside of hate groups is not, in fact, the same thing as sending money to those same hate groups to support them.

Toss up as to whether the acting attorney general is that friggin stupid or if he just thinks the people he’s talking to are.

For a beaten and decimated nation, those Iranians are playing a weak hand well.  Or is it just me who thinks DJT has painted himself in to a corner and all the Iranians have to do is nothing, plus or minus a bit of nuisance.
Hasn't the text book on how not to run foreign policy been written already, did we need another chapter of it?
You mean the book written by Chamberlain?
