If anyone is interested in participating with the Zoom, let me know as I will rejoin.  Otherwise an early night here.

Thanks to those who dropped in earlier this PM.  It was great conversation as always. Appreciated the opportunity to "see" forum members once again.

  • the most recent star wars movie is still streaming here for movie night.  missed the early round as expected but glad to see it was a hit. will check in later to see if a late show / revival gets rolling. if noone is around it’s great opportunity to shout third rail topics into the void lol.

looking forward to nfl conf championship sunday

Final victory has been declared.  @Zaphod and @Buckwoody Egger were on when I returned to the scene.  We carried on until today.  Good times across the board.  Clean-up finished.

  • if anyone in the forum wants to share why they are not interested or avoiding participating - maybe there’s an opportunity to mix it up.

very appreciative of the free usage of the account from JIC. otherwise zoom is limited to 40 minutes without a paid account,

In fact, any of you can use that link at any time.  All you need is the password, which any number of people here would happily provide via DM.  It is even brown water themed.

This is a lame sounding excuse, but Friday nights are somewhat busy on this side. Especially last night, since we have a busy weekend of caliprince activities to run through (some kind of Math competition, camping with the Scouts, etc.)

I had intended to join, but time sort of got away from me. My loss, since every one of these I've attended has left me in better spirits.

at one point we were discussing my desire to do Tandoori, and the Letzq kit for that. Your name came up and even said it three times, but no luck for us.

I peaked in around 10? and couldn't get the artist rendering of @JohnInCarolina to respond  ;)

Sorry man!  You should’ve texted me - I would’ve broke away from the movie we were watching with the girls for a bit just to say hello!

I peeked in at about 5:30 MST and saw the same, typed in a "Hello?" via the chat feature, turned the volume up and went into the other room; about 6:30 my entire 'net went down (that's been happening a lot lately).  Gave up at that point (had completely re-installed the Zoom app earlier that day, so was at least able to get into the "chat").

That desire deserves its own thread!

Many here have great tips/mods/hacks for tandoori cooking/grilling on a BGE, and it would honestly be helpful to have some of those in one thread. With the collective brain power of the forum, I promise your learning curve will be short.

Are you referring to the LetzQ tandoori ring? Its not that expensive, but doesn't seem to add much benefit. The top vent is still not quite wide enough to slide loaded skewers in and out of.

Start a thread. I've got things to say :)

@bucky925 Da-n!  My hiatus let the Speakeasy down.  Matter of fact @bubbajack and I were talking about the good 'ol Covid Zoom's and the missing members.  Your handle was prominent in the conversation.
No pressure to make the next one, whenever it may happen.   B)

    Start it.

edit- actually don’t. You were correct that Zaphod should start it. I have a large data dump and I know you do too for a thread like that.

    @zaphod ...let’s goooooo. Start it.

Like Cali said- start a thread. I have a lot to say as well. Will be fun for you to have a thread where people are adding stuff and asking questions all the time. I still get notifications from something I started 10 years ago.
