Rockwood or Cowboy?

😁 Just kidding‼️😁‼️

As all the 10 year plus folks know, I’ve been gone from the forum for several years.
I have not egged much for about 4 years…since COVID and my retirement.

Weii I’m ready to start back today with 4 butts and a 4-lb slab of balogny.

Hoping to see some familiar usernames soon.

Have a great weekend and keep those Eggs smokin’‼️‼️‼️

Donnie.

    Hey Brother Egger!

I've got the Mustard Slaw mixed and marinating in the fridge. Blues Hog lump in the XL. The 91% Alcohol and a lighter sitting nearby. I've got four pork butts rubbed down with Bad Byron's Butt Rub. I've got a 4 pound chub of Khan's balogny sitting in a pan of Memphis Madness sauce.

Wife's fixin' potato salad and baked beans.

    Ohhhhh Mannnn !

Everyday is Saturday or Monday … all depends on your state of mind!

Rockwood is okay, but sometimes you want the flavor of plastic straps, terpintine, stain, and epoxy.  For that you really need Cowboy.

I’m experimenting tonight. I’ve had Blues Hog sauces but ran across some Blues Hog lump. I had never seen it before. I hope it turns out Ok.

I am a Rockwood kinda guy, but I also experiment a little. I have a couple bags of Jealous Devil that I’ve been waiting to use.

    Have a good weekend.

@dldawes1a I have used regular Blues Hog, but never their competition blend.  Curious to hear your thoughts.

There regular bag is similar to Royal Oak, perfectly fine, just takes a bit of time to get burning clean and has more smoke flavor than RW.

I’ve used that lump many times and really like it. Burns clean quickly and good sized pieces

    Hey friend!

I almost forgot how good it smells out on my deck at 3am 😁‼️

We are having a little get-together for my Neice tomorrow. She just graduated from U of L with her Doctorate. Go Cards for  lousubcap  ‼️

When they asked her what she wanted to eat at the party, she said, “Duh. RNNL8 BBQ, of course‼️”

    I couldn’t disappoint, of course‼️

Here’s a few pics. Probly boring for yall but I’m eggcited‼️‼️😁

You still crankin' out those massive pulled pork sessions?

  •  Ozzie_Isaac.  It did go well. I already wrapped one butt in had before I remembered to get a pic. I just put the balogny on when I wrapped the butts. Food porn pics to come.

Honestly I have not been doing any 16 butt on 2 XL cooks. When COVID was still going on they had so many rules and regulations for food trailers, I gave it up. It sure was fun and I sure sold a LOT of pulled pork sammiches.

Damn that looks good.  I don't do many big cooks anymore, but I know what you mean about the middle of the night stillness, stars and that wonderful smell of smoking meat.
    Love you bro!

So true. I haven't worked in about 15 years now. Knowing the day of the week is a challenge at this point.

I may be the only one on the forum that likes cowboy lump charcoal.  The bologna looks great,  might try that with liverwurst, maybe mustard bbq sauce.

    Hey brother!

I keep a bag or two of Cowboy in the garage. I’ve used it for butts and briskets.

All brands have good days and bad days….except Rockwood 🤣😂😁😳‼️

I haven’t had a bad bag of Rockwood.

    Thanks my friend,

    Donnie.
