    Hello EGGheads!

I wanted to quickly introduce myself - my name is Hannah and I recently joined the team here at Big Green Egg as the Social Media & Culinary Strategist. This group is so unique and full of knowledge- I was thrilled to learn about it when I joined the team and have already started gathering tips and tricks that my husband and I have been using as new EGG owners ourselves. Great to virtually meet you all!

Welcome to the forum @HannahGreeneEgg - Glad to read you will be advocating for the members here.  Can you elaborate on a few things please . . .
    - Do you consider this forum to be "social media"?  If so, what is your strategy for it?
    - Certainly you've noticed culinary skills shared/donated to the forum are exceptional.  Numerous cooks could be Michelin Star(s) worthy.  Any reason not to leverage that into your culinary strategy?
    - Unique and full of knowledge (add in wisdom too) is an apt description of this forum.  I'm not just talking Egging here.  You've been gifted a gold mine in your new position, am anxious to see how you develop it.

I’ll be trying my four eggs this week. This had better be a cakewalk… I have never had trouble getting parts before. My dealer is awesome.

I got an email this morning about the new open registration, and I don't remember if I ever tried to register it when I bought it. That was in 2011, so no serial number. The process on the website was quick and easy. I have a scanned copy of my original receipt, so I know the date of purchase. Got a confirmation email almost immediately.
Cincinnati, Ohio. Large BGE since 2011. Still learning.

I have one of those amazing platinum dealers that just handles whatever I need with no hassle. I called them today and they confirmed that I need to reregister all of my (4) eggs.  I'll be getting on that.  I also just live with the cracks and haven't actually made a claim in maybe 2 years.  I hope this new system works out ok.

  • I know you don’t want to ship the parts to our houses where we actually need them but it would be nice if you could approve the warranty through BGE and ship the part to the closest dealer.
Hello! With the new Warranty Process, you will have the option to ship replacement parts directly to your house (shipping costs may apply) or have them fulfilled at no cost by your local dealer. If you select the dealer pick-up option, we will email you a QR code that you will present to the dealer when picking up the part. If you need to file a Warranty Claim in the future, and to read more about this new process, head over to this page: https://biggreenegg.com/warranty-claim/

Hope this helps- let me know if you have any other questions!

Here's one for you. I live in Canada, but I bought my egg in the US at least 10 years ago. I have the original receipt from a dealer that is also no longer in existence. Can I register and get my warranty here in Canada, or do I need to go back to a new dealer in the city I bought it in, in the US for parts? I have done this in the past at an ACE Hardware there, not sure if I am re-registering now if it will make a difference or not.

I saw that @HannahGreeneEgg in the email you all sent out. Pretty excited. I would probably pay shipping to not have to mess with my dealer.

unpopular opinion... if there's such a kerfuffle re: the warranty of a certain green ceramic cooker, I'd probably be looking at a certain red ceramic cooker, that apparently has already figured this out.

    Just sayin'...

I’m guessing they are trying to streamline warranties so they can get into larger box stores who (along with smaller retailers) don’t want to train employees on bge warranty process. It’s not about the consumer.

Most the dealers around me don’t even realize BGE has a lifetime warranty.

Not all parts can be shipped to the end-user. Bases/Domes for medium and larger Eggs have to ship to a dealer. While most people do not like to pay for shipping, it may cost less to pay for shipping versus a special trip to the dealer for those smaller items.
When I got my mini, the dealer had the trucking company deliver the pallet to my home.

Hopefully BGE is picking up the shipping fee to the dealers. If not, it could take weeks or months to get a warranty part.

Hello there! If you need to register your EGG, you can with the receipt and any Canadian dealer will be able to honor the warranty. If you've already registered the EGG previously, you're in our system and you should be all set to file a claim. If it would be easier, reach out to Support@BigGreenEgg.com and they can make sure everything is matched up in our system!

I am in the EU (Belgium), with a Dutch dealer telling me I will only ever need their invoice/POP to get my warranty settled in case of issues.

Could you elaborate on the EU situation and process? I still have my POP for both, but I obviously do not want to run into issues 20 years from now if/when my dealer stops carrying these or goes out of business.

    Thanks!

Hi there! The EU Warranty Process has stayed the same, so hang on to your original POP. The recent changes to the Warranty Process, and the Open Enrollment period, are for the US only.
