Thanks all. @Stormbringer as stated above, it keeps the meat from getting too warm and clogging the grinder. I put the grinder parts in the freezer for a bit also.

Thanks guys. I believe this is the first time I’ve actually smoked burgers. I usually just grill them hot and fast or go the smash burger route. Between grinding these from a chuck roast and slow smoking them they had a great texture and was really juicy with great smoke flavor. Will do again.

I expected so. Funny thing with lo n slo in Traeger in my experience ... profound smoke ring but doesn't taste as smoky as egged protein, not a bad thing especially with day-after chicken.
Edit: I assumed it was cooked in the Ranger, my bad if it wasn't.canuckland -
