I had no idea this was a thing but I randomly stumbled across a YouTube short video of a lady who visits head stones that have recipes posted on them.

https://youtube.com/shorts/L4dwLBxMCAw?feature=share

I've never heard of anyone putting a recipe on a head stone before. That's kind of cool when thinking about it. Which got me thinking. What one recipe would you put on your headstone? Anyone known for a certain recipe and willing to share? I'm sure this thread will go sideways being Friday but I'm curious what one recipe you might pick?

    Elephant Stew:
    1 elephant
    3 cloves garlic
    2 bushel carrots
    2 bushel onions
    1 bushel green peppers
    2 bushels ripe tomatoes
    1 (16 oz.) box macaroni
    1 gallon oil
    2 (16 oz.) cans peas
    Lots of gravy
    222 potatoes
    2 rutabagas
    16 parsnips
    2 c. celery
    Salt and pepper to taste
    1/4 tsp. oregano
    1 lg. bay leaf

Cut the elephant into small pieces. Save the trunk to store stuff in. Brown meat in the oil and garlic in a very large skillet. Chop all the vegetables. Do not use more than two rutabagas as it can ruin the taste. Combine elephant meat and vegetables in a very large kettle and cover with gravy to cover. Add seasonings. Cook over a very hot fire (462 degrees) for 4 days, stirring every 15 minutes to prevent burning. A rowboat oar works well for this. Last half hour of cooking add the macaroni. Will serve 3965 people. If more people have arrived for dinner, two rabbits cut into pieces may be added. Don't tell anyone you have added the rabbits to the stew as most people do not like HARE in their stew. Remove bay leaf just before serving.

Given that I plan to be cremated, I think I'd post Mickey's wing recipe.

I am headed to the oven and then to the ocean where I will be then feeding the fish.  I'm sure they will enjoy it.
Always has been the plan and given I have performed 5 cremain (only option from a surfaced (or submerged-had to go that route once)) ceremonies from various submarines, some unlucky captain is gonna get a go.
I only hope the wind does not change direction at the time of tossing the ashes.  B)

  • While we’re on the topic of cremation, I call dibs in having the deed done on @lkapigian’s FatStack! I promise to render out real nice, Larry! 👌 (Clean burn may be required afterwards.)

Regrettably been there-worn that on a crispy clean sparkling summer white uniform and the remnants were obvious despite all attempts to remove the obvious.  Did not get a face shot so there's that!
BTW- more gray in colour (nod) than depicted in the movie above.

@lousubcap - I am curious, why was one of the ceremonies you performed done while submerged, and how?

I’ve told people for 20 years, cremate me and dump the ashes on an outgoing tide. Horn Island Pass is good enough. Unfortunately I discovered a coffin ⚰️ in a drain inlet after Katrina. During the removal process the lid popped open, the guy looked like the Crypt Keeper. We tossed a tarp over before we attracted Lookie Lou’s, I flagged down an Illinois state trooper, and he called the coroners reefer truck “manned “ by lesbians. I don’t want to ever bother the lesbians.

Sounds like quite an experience, and I don’t mean to be insensitive, but….

Yes there was and I didn’t even stretch it, all accurate. Well one of the corners wasn’t a lesbian but the actual lesbians said that he was an honorary lesbian. Then there was the next day where we found a complete set of scuba gear in one storm sewer pipe and an hour later found a power wheel chair.

3 cloves of garlic per elephant... WTF!?!?

    You need at least 6
