Might be a surprise but that brisket burger from Leroy and Lewis was insane and probably my top eat. Everything there was excellent, Wagyu Brisket and Beef Cheeks too. Franklins Brisket definitely lives up to the hype it was phenomenal.

    That looks phenomenal!

But, I have so many questions!
How long were you there?  That looks like a lot of food!  Or, was it a group / family effort?

Did you struggle to get in any place?  Were you able to make a plan and hit those places?  Or, did you camp out for hours in order to get food?

That is an awesome idea for a trip, but I always worry I would miss out due to timing at some of those places.

We were in Austin for a total of 5 days. Just myself and my girlfriend we did get a lot of food but while there we wanted to try it all.

Every place opens at 11AM and we made the effort to get there about an hour to half hour before they opened and we were fine. Franklins though as you probably know is known for the long line but we planned to go during the week (on a Thursday) lined up at 9AM and were the 7th in line so we just waited the 2 hours. If you go on the weekend for the Beef Ribs people start lining up around 5AM sometimes.

Some places do run out of their “special” items so we wanted to ensure we got those items so we had no problem going an hour before and just hanging out.

Honestly it’s not a surprise to me. A good burger is hard to beat. Gods food 👍

    Great pics!
When I was a Lieutenant (mid-80's) I did a lot of TDYs to Austin, to the Lockheed-Martin plant, and loved the local spots (and got there during the Pecan Festival, once).  I had a few favorites but can't remember their names (and they're probably not there anymore) but I want to revisit.
    Thank you for the refresher!

Great present right there.  Way to get after it. A belated Happy Birthday!
Does Intersteller still offer free beer?

Btw- all those spots are closed on Monday.  And all, save Franklin's closed Tuesday as well.
Valentina's opens at 7:30 AM.  Others, 11 AM.
Chasing down Q in central Texas is about as good as it gets.

Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.
