@TechsasJim, our Aussie Doodle is a standard, holding steady in that 65-70# range at almost a year old……our mini Bernedoodle is/was the ticket. 25# of fun. Wouldn’t trade either of them in, but the big boy is a lot!

The 3/4 standard poodle 1/4 Old English Sheepdog of mine hit 42 pounds at 5 months old. I hope to weigh him again tomorrow. I did have him sheared though, no telling how many pounds that was.

For all my friends who have ever loved a dog. My daughter shared this song with me this morning. I will honestly say a tear may have been shed.

We are considering adopting this foster dog. Name is Otto. He’s coming to spend this weekend with us.

I'd say "Yes!" on Otto; look at that Smile!

Otto knows that it’s better to go out the front door than the back at the pound. .

@JohnInCarolina - Good on you, and family, for looking at rescue dogs. Even better doing the extended home visit before deciding if it's permanent. Really hoping he gets his forever home. And if you don't know already, the cats would typically be more a danger to Otto then vise versa. 🙂LBGE, LBGE-PTR, 22" Weber, Coleman 413GGreat Plains, USA -
It might not be for you, but have you seen the movie "A Man Called Otto?"?dbCooper said:JohnInCarolina said:We are considering adopting this foster dog. Name is Otto. He’s coming to spend this weekend with us.

That was kind of a rewrite of Gran Torino. Both those dudes were softies to the bone, if you were the live and let live type of being.

Never seen Gran Torino. Might have to give it a shot. Old Clint Eastwood makes me question my own mortality and I don't like it.dbCooper said:That was kind of a rewrite of Gran Torino. Both those dudes were softies to the bone, if you were the live and let live type of being.
I am more of a Dirty Harry or Unforgiven Eastwood fan.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Yes sir, that's why we wanted a standard. The breeder suggested he would get to the 80-90# range. I/we wanted a big dog. I travel for work often and having a big guy will at least give me a bit more peace of mind while gone.ColbyLang said:@TechsasJim, our Aussie Doodle is a standard, holding steady in that 65-70# range at almost a year old……our mini Bernedoodle is/was the ticket. 25# of fun. Our friends have a mini Bernedoodle and that dog is a hoot. 4yrs old and still acts like a puppy which is pretty cool.LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas -
There is definitely some angst over how our cats are going to react. They were not fans of Otto upon their first meeting. Thankfully he’s a bit shy by nature (as I suspect most strays are). It’s going to be an interesting weekend.dbCooper said:JohnInCarolina said:We are considering adopting this foster dog. Name is Otto. He’s coming to spend this weekend with us.

Well I weighed my 6 month and 1 week old 3/4 poodle 1/4 Old English Sheepdog an hour ago. 46 pounds. He was supposed to be 30 to 50 pound full grown.Anyhow the cats will train Otto. As I told my dog more than once “that cat will dance a fandango on your back”.

Vaccination day…again He’s done now but never seemed to mind it a bit

I'm hoping that he slows down and tops out at 70 but 80 is a possibility. I'll try to take some pics this weekend. He's already as tall and long as my Boxer but much skinnier now that his excess floof was sheared off.fishlessman said:Gulfcoastguy said:Well I weighed my 6 month and 1 week old 3/4 poodle 1/4 Old English Sheepdog an hour ago. 46 pounds.
