Looking for marinate for venison and any advice on cooking the back strap.

So many variations on this marinade. All turn out great. I butchered 8-10 deer every year I bow hunted, and we marinated the back straps and grilled them the next day at the archery club. Always a favorite treat for the bowhunters!
We used a lot of the deer meat in chili and stews at the monthly 3D archery tournament lunches. And a lot of antelope chili. Lots of good eats at those tournaments! Fun times for sure. -
