I’m not sure I understand the indifference to the one Senator who has probably done more to protect consumers than anyone else.

  • Trump would be completely thrilled to turn America into Atlantic City, one tacky ass grift and “the house always wins” business at a time.  Has his slush fund paid legal fees for any J6ers from the general public yet?  Hate to see people fall for him and casinos, lotteries, sports gambling, etc.

Quick show of hands - who would find this to be surprising?

That behavior is obvious to anyone who has watched the clown show., starring CHEETO. Mentioned in several places in "The Divider" by Peter Baker and Susan Glasser.  Nothing more challenging than dealing with a narcissist and loser all rolled into one small hands package.

Monday 1 PM EST- but I have wrestled with this decision for quite a while.  I land on the side of "all it is is symbology" and detracts from the great work the committee has uncovered and presented to the citizenry.
The DOJ knows full well everything the committee will offer and will do their fair and impartial investigation. But it is good theater in the court of public opinion.  However, those who will pay any attention will not be swayed one way or the other.  F CHEETO.  Off mini soap-box.

More on the CHEETO tax return deal:
"The House Ways and Means Committee voted yesterday to release former President Trump’s tax returns. The committee's 24-16 vote along party lines followed a more than four-hour closed-door meeting. The Wall Street Journalreports.

The House Ways and Means Committee yesterday released a summary reporton the Inland Revenue Service’s (IRS) mandatory audit program for presidents. The report concluded that the IRS failed to audit Trump’s taxes as required under the program. Trump filed his 2015, 2016 and 2017 tax returns during his first two years as president, which should have triggered an IRS examination of those returns. However, the agency did not initiate an audit of any of the returns that Trump filed while in office until April 3, 2019 - the same day committee Chair Richard Neal (D-MA) first asked the IRS to provide six years of Trump’s tax returns. Benjamin Guggenheim reports for POLITICO

The committee also released a supplemental report from the Joint Committee on Taxation that offered a summary of Trump’s tax returns between 2015 and 2020. The report highlights some of the stall tactics that Trump and his legal team used during the audit process. Those included seeking additional information under the Freedom of Information Act, failing to provide all the facts needed to resolve certain issues and saying that they would probably have more relevant information to present in protest or appeals. Alan Rappeport reports for the New York Times. "

What made this a witch hunt, exactly?  They pursued the records because they thought the IRS wasn’t performing its responsibilities, and it turns out they were right.

with trump, every things a witch hunt, just ask him.  im not sure when they discovered the irs screwing up. maybe another investigation as to why is needed. they have no problems sending armed agents to me for audits but skip over the law for a sitting president.......
