I was a card carrying Republican.  Always voted party ticket at national/State level. Local level is more nuanced.

January 6th, changed that.  Supreme courts activism has changed that.  The behavior of the "conservatives" on this forum have changed that.

The "libs" on here are funny MoFos.  They are just having fun and poking back.  The fact you guys and gals get so wrapped around the axel is what makes it a sport.  If you had reasonable discussions and were not racist, sexist, or classist, you might actually have some good discussions and sway opinions.  However, when you behave like incels, it makes it really easy to disregard any potential points.

There are a lot of very intelligent, well spoken, and courteous conservatives on this forum.  I will not speak for them, but I know I have generally kept my beliefs to my self, not for concern about John, Nola, or any other "libs" attacking me, but rather I do not want to be associated with racist or sexist extremists.

P.S. if your position is threatened by open and honest evaluation then it is not a strong position.  Also, if someone disgareeing makes them "stupid" or "ignorant"  then you lack conviction.  If you are truly "right" then it doesn't matter if someone else agreed or not.
