Historic insurrection .  That is true , first insurrection in history where none of the participants were armed, were only charged with misdemeanor crimes of parading and trespass, where the police unlocked doors and waved them in,  and ZERO participants were charged with insurrection related crimes. Surely historic

That really does sound like a very peaceful walk in the park where nobody got hurt or injured.

What planet did it happen on?

    Also, this:

    https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/leader-proud-boys-and-four-other-members-indicted-federal-court-seditious-conspiracy-and

"A federal grand jury in the District of Columbia returned a superseding indictment today charging five members of the Proud Boys, including the group’s former national chairman, with seditious conspiracy and other charges for their actions before and during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Their actions disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the presidential election."

Does sound like an insurrection-related crime, and something quite a bit more significant than a misdemeanor, but then I have never been in sales so who knows.

☝ do you just sit on the forum all day and night just waiting for someone to say something that you disagree with and then go to Google to prove them wrong?

Yes, of course.  24/7.  Thanks for pointing that out, no one could possibly read and respond to all the new daily posts in less than 24 hours of solid work.  Someone has to do it or the streams will cross and life as we know it will be annihilated by a temporal wormhole.

I would be happy to compare my life to yours, any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.  But that would be a fairly douchey thing to do, kind of like the ahole who looked to mock a forum member who was concerned about one of their kids getting sick with covid:

Meanwhile you have crying Chuck with insurrection on Gorsuch and Kavenaugh.

Protestors bringing weapons to a Supreme Court Justice’s home?!

    Where does this sh*T end?

No Supreme Court justices were harmed, so, peaceful protest?  Just a little dust up?

I don’t know where it ends, probably something (really really) bad has to happen that everyone agrees is bad and doesn’t try to rationalize or dilute.

Nobody wants to see really really bad.

I think my big point is both sides have wronged.    The Jan 6 deal I’m still wrapping my head around but there is absolutely no doubt Chuck called out the SC Justices.

There used to be civil conversations-those seem to be gone.   We need to get back to those times.

So Schumer says "...you won't know what hit you" over two years ago....sure, that's as bad as literally instructing a mob to hang the vice president hours before they are chanting it while storming the capitol while the VP is in there.

    No difference at all.

John, we can argue all day long, it’s pointless.  I will not change your mind and you will not change mine.

So what’s the point carrying on?   I’ll gladly go do other things that I enjoy as I’m sure you will.

We’ve seen folks like yourself quite a bit over the years in this forum.  They pop into threads like this, their assertions get challenged, and then they throw their hands in the air saying “libtards!” or “Democrats!” and declare they’re leaving the thread.  Only to pop back in later on.

Like you said, no big deal.  I’ve just never understood the approach.

And Johnny boy wonders why his posts get so many dislikes.  It’s not rocket science… when you are a d-ick to people, talk down to them, and act like a general a$$hole, you will gather a fan base of haters.  That’s how the world works, and has for centuries. Get used to it. You bring it on yourself with your arrogant (better than you) attitude!

Because it’s a cop out.  It’s a convenient excuse to avoid actually having to think.  If everyone is the same then no one is really to blame.

Nobody says you have to pick a “side”, there are always shades of gray.

I’m not saying everyone/thing is the same.  I tend to see people try and say what the other side is worse so therefore what we did was ok instead of just admitting yeah we both did shity things let’s both try and do better going forward. Some where along the road we forgot we are people trying to improve everyone’s life not just the ones like us.
