i need a big enough duffle to fit the fishing rod travel cases. used to just ship the rods in the travel cases but they would turn up missing. ive gone into rooms the publics not supposed to go at airports to retrieve them. even stopped a bus once where the driver stashed them in his personal locker after they were placed in the underneath. its amazing how those cases grow legs. filson makes some great luggage but those are a target to be stolen all on their own

Thanks for the intel guys. Ultimately not my decision (swmbo gets to make the call). I’m just trying to steer her/our decision

I'm in the old duffel bag camp, but I'll never forget seeing a couple college kids drop 10k on LV luggage one time. I'm pretty sure it was on 2-3 pieces...Nope~ John - Formerly known as ColtsFan - https://www.instagram.com/hoosier_egger

i think mines an old bean duffle but could be cabellas, its a drop bottom duffle on wheels, the drop bottom comes in handy for keeping fresh and soiled clothes separate. might not be something your wife would be interested in but.....some of my gear gets pretty disgusting from being in salt type marshes

This^^^, cheap and is holding up.dmchicago said:We bought AWAY luggage a few years ago. Very good quality for the most part.
Lifetime warranty so anything that has been a problem was replaced right away at the store.
My wife travels quite a bit for work and we take 3-4 vacation trips a year.

Using Pelican cases as luggage was a move I made 7-8 years ago and I have no regrets. Here there are being used on a trip last week.

Is anyone else shocked that luggage can easily cost like $800 ... seriously, it's not that complicated to make. What a rip off.
Anyhow, our latest luggage, all 4 wheels swivel, hard case, has a zipper that expands the depth of the luggage ... definitely a winner. I won't use anything but luggage with 4 swivel wheels now ... way easier to carry.Napoleon Prestige Pro 665, XL BGE, Lots of time for BBQ! -
I use Amazon Basics luggage for my travels and occasionally a large canvas duffel I have had for eons.
My wife uses Louis Vuitton.
I recommend a middle ground. TJMax and Marshall's usually have heavily discounted luggage.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

This really goes without saying, but f your air crew is damaging your luggage, you really need to have your PA fire them and hire a better crew.

Used to have a college intern that our team that nicknamed Samsonite. He always asked us what it meant. On his last day we told him he was excess baggage.lkapigian said:
