the braciole recipe that nola posted in a crock with italian sausage and meatballs are awesome.or go big, couple of flank steaks loaded with fresh basil, parsley, pinenuts, parmigiana cheese, mozz, proscuitto, lemon juice, raisins, oregano etc.

Jeff Mauro's recipe is crazy delicious.
I stick to his recipe, other than using our Instant Pot instead of a dutch oven, and buying Marconi Hot Giardiniera instead of making it.

just a quick question, what makes chicago italian beef italian. i live in a place known as mingah valley, we dont have that here. the italians make braciole here, my italian barber told me how to make it years ago and its mostly a holiday thing

True - and I tried Portillo's Italian Beef once and didn't care for it...tastes about like their burnt onions they put on their Polish sausage! We have a tiny mom and pop hole in the wall restaurant called Chicago Grill that makes far FAR better Italian Beef! I was just looking for a home made recipe.Langner91 said:
