Bob Dole RIP at 98

Bob Dole passed away (in his sleep) today at the age of 98.   He grew up only 26 miles from where I live, and I shook his hand once at a veteran memorial ceremony.  He was quite a man, and will be missed.  Wish we had more Bob Doles in office nowadays!

I met him once when he spoke at a corporate event, 20 years ago.  He was genuinely funny and sincere.  We all thought at the time, if he had shown half that much personality during the campaign, he might have had a shot against Clinton.

He certainly seemed to have a sense of humor.  I hope this is real what he said after Norm Macdonald passed away.

Was fortunate enough to meet him and Elizabeth a few times at the World War Two Memorial.  They made a point to greet every Honor Flight that they could for many years.  They don't make 'em like him any more.
Condolences to his family.  A true hero.

Watched the service on FOX today. A real tear jerker.  They  are taking the casket down I-70 right now, and burial is on Saturday at Russell Kansas cemetery.  Big day for that small town!
