How is he making Biden look like an idiot?

putin is going to do what he wants, and it looks like hes taking the never argue with an idiot approach. just the other day he took the yes, im pulling my troops back, now he is using the peace keeping approach of invasion. whats biden doing, we will have sanctions approach, putin dont care. next up, take the flags off the soldiers invading, whose soldiers are those approach....its worked before
SO, what should Biden be doing?

i suppose nothing, he is good at that, do what he knows, then we can watch china do the same. wish he had some advisors in dc, a way to come up with some better ideas.........i know,  blame trump
    Next level response. Thanks.

my only point is that biden  looks like an idiot compared to putin. maybe using the cnn blame trump response was a little lame.....

Getting NATO in line with sanctions is about the only play Biden has.  There is no way (and never was) that the US or NATO would commit troops into Ukraine.  That's why Putin has calculated the pain of the sanctions and the gain of controlling Ukraine and rolled in.  As pointed out in a good read provided above by @JohnInCarolina, time is the only variable.
Now China- clearly watching and weighing the Wests' (especially the US) response with the eye on Taiwan.  US commitments to Taiwan are much stronger.  The Chinese are well aware but enhanced provoking is likely gonna happen in the near-term.  The Chinese clearly have their sights on Taiwan but the long game plays in their favor.  FWIW-

I haven't seen anyone here suggest Putin is an idiot, but perhaps I've missed something.

Thanks for the shoutout! I think mine hold up, as they didn’t say the Russians wouldn’t invade. I took the tack that we were in danger of that happening, and that from their perspective it might seem necessary. So, prescient really. Don’t know how much of an invasion it is yet, but fingers crossed (that it doesn’t get worse).

I think the real interpretation of their position is that they want to ignore Russia so we can get on with the warmongering against China. We’ll need all our resources to destroy them. I don’t get the right wing hate of China when all the big US companies are making money by the shipload over there.

Seems clear it was the part about Ukraine being a pure client state of the US State Department that’s being referenced in that tweet.

Wondering the spin when the more intense shoot 'em up gets rolling in the State Department client Ukraine 🇺🇦??  Never mind the rip thru the financial markets...and you think the current downward trend is a challenge??  Hang on.

Just about every Western democratic country has expressed solidarity against Putin…. With the exception of the republicans who are gushing about how Putin is a strong, clever genius.  Do these people know that tens or hundreds of thousands of innocent people could needlessly die?  WTF?!

I didn't think he'd do the full invasion because of the economic consequences. Putin's gambling that we'll all go soft in the end and he'll get away with it.

You can't make that stuff up.  And to think the hold he has with the base.

    I had the same take.
He may well be right about the sanctions not having enough teeth to do much damage. Getting most of the large Western countries to agree to the same punitive measures against Russia and Russian citizens (and not just the oligarchs) likely won't be easy as the cost to the Western economies could be quite high.

  • And now Russian forces hold the cargo airport right outside Kiev. That allows them to bring in airborne forces including armor. The Ukraine had better be dispersing and hiding their government.

Yes. Seeing the country referred to as "the Ukraine" is one of those little things that makes my eye twitch.  Just like seeing "US Navy Seals" or "irregardless" or many others. Twitch inducing. :)
