Zoom/Speakeasy; Getting the Band back together Friday 12/3 at 5 PM/10 PM (EST/GMT)-more below

After a 3 month break for cleaning and restocking it's time to open the doors.  This should be quite a session. In keeping with the international flavour, doors open as noted above as our friends from across the Pond will drop in.
You will enjoy yourself however long you visit.  Social distancing is a given. Beverage(s) of your choice.
Reminder:  Politics and religion make up the third rail and are off-limits.
Upfront thanks to @JohnInCarolina (aka The Chairman) for enabling this to happen for the entire time.
Zoom site linked here:   https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89600782373
Password is unchanged since inception 19 months ago and will be gladly provided, just ask.

  • I assume you cleared this with Chairman Mao?

We are hosting a party for our town Christmas parade  that night so we will not be able to attend but I love the idea of quarterly/monthly gatherings.

@The Cen-Tex Smoker The Chairman actually took the lead in suggesting although we had casually tossed it around after the "last session" in late May.  Following the poor Yank turnout for the late August session I was ready to "declare victory" and totally shutter the place.
But upon further review we are giving it another go.
BTW- you plan on running for city office in Fredricksburg??   =)

Somewhat like the late great Groucho Marx, I would not run for an office that would have me.

All are welcome and encouraged to drop in, if only for a brief visit.  These Friday evening sessions ran weekly for over a year commencing in April '20 as as a great outlet during the challenges brought by the pandemic.
The scope and range of conversations covered the spectrum.  You will definitely learn something.
Check it out!  No cover charge.

@lkapigian - you will have to make an appearance to get the goods for this one as the daily recap has been relegated to the archives.  Hope you can make a visit.

    12/3 is my birthday.

I’m hoping to get drunk and/or laid.

If I show up, you’ll know only one of those has happened.
If you can carry on starting at 4 PM (CST) and still be going (never mind the alcohol intake) several hours later then you deserve a merit badge or medical treatment for priapism.
Surely a smoke break will enable a visit =)  .

@saluki2007 - regrettably I would guess your 12/3 schedule has cleared.  Thus give this session a go.

For any new forum members, the Zoom session will run until the crowd is gone.  During the weekly sessions, it would generally be active til 12:30-1:30 AM (or longer) Eastern time so there is a wide window of opportunity to stop in.

Once you launch the Zoom app, it will show your real name (typically).  If you click on participants, and then your own name, you can change it to whatever you want.  Most people do put their forum name up, but then there are also shenanigans…

I don't believe he (@dmchicago) has fully struck in or out on his B'day special.  We could be in for some learning.
