I just passed on a 22 Tundra in the wrong color and bed length from a dealership that is not going to go above MSRP. To do so at this time exemplifies morals. Sure, some people have issues paying MSRP. Wake up, times are not normal. The problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem, and that is a big problem.

I'm gonna hold off until the electric flying truck comes out. Flux capacitor would be a bonus as time travel would be a nice option.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Don’t understand the appeal for a bronco … I owned one in the past and the repairs was a major yearly expense, never again (yes, I know technology changes). Finally after paying $900 to replaced a rusted gas tank , I sold it for $500 just to get rid of it. It was under 10 years old.Dave

Sitting at the local Toyota dealer getting some maintenance done. They have 4 tundras, 5 Tacoma’s, and 5 4Runners on the lot. That’s the most I’ve seen in a year. Tundras are all 2021 and the 4Runners are 2022 year models.
Not my cup of tea on this TRD pro.LBGE

@alaskanassasin I had to double take. At first I saw the $57k sticker but the dealer mark up for “limited” availability is $10k, so it’s $68k geez.

Toyota Racing Development. Looking at that SUV, it's just turned into a branding exercise now. Charging a premium like that, I hope it stays with the dealer.

They had one in stock that I had previously looked at. The salesman and I agree to a deal with a handshake and then they went and ran my credit to see if they could beat my credit union interest rate and grab paperwork. He comes back and tells me he can't sell me the vehicle for that price. That the price he told me was before taxes. BS, I had the quote we just agreed to on paper and it included taxes. They still wouldn't honor it, so I told them to pound sand and called Corporate. I went and bought a more expensive Lexus GX460 two days later. Most dealers don't give a crap about you. They are deliberately there to screw you any way they can.

theres absolutely no way i would be a first time buyer with a 10k market adjustment and i would never be back. my last new truck i bought the first stop was to the prior dealer that wanted 5k down just to test drive it, i didnt test drive it

Most new car dealers are unscrupulous scum. The only thing lower are *used* car dealers. Watch Tin Men and the car dealers are an order of magnitude worse.______________________________________________I love lamp..

My senior year in high school, I was a lot attendant at a Pontiac-Cadillac-Toyota dealership. Basically my job was to park cars, wash cars, and take money to the bank for deposits. Along the way I just watched the dealers work. Man, that was a real-world education. I probably should have refused a salary.
This was back before the internet was around so the sales guys could lie with abandon. And they did, but it was worse than that. I'll never forget one of the guys sleeping with this married lady, and getting her to buy three different cars from him, all between $5k-$10k above sticker price.
By far the worst part was how they'd take the old folks to the cleaners. Retired couple would come in, looking to trade in the caddy they'd bought 10 years earlier. The dealers would tell them it was worth a fraction of what they could turn around and sell it for. They even got a kick out of watching the reaction they'd get. They'd say to me, "watch this geezer jump out of his seat when I tell him what we'll give him for the trade in!".
And the owners were aholes, man. The sh!t they used to ask me to do. It was right out of a bad movie, father and son shop where the son was a total dipsh!t. The son knew I was doing really well in school so he would just F with me, like tell me to change the sign out in front of the store in the middle of a torrential downpoor.
Then one day I came back from the bank and there were all these guys walking around in trench coats collecting keys. Turns out the owner and his son had just been making up deals. Fabricating sales out of whole cloth, etc. The son was in tears as I walked out the door - "DO GOOD IN SCHOOL!" were his last words to me
"I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike
"The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand." - Deep Throat -

the used car dealers have changed their gimmicks up here. first up is the sales concierge, this person never even sees the used car in question but makes up all the answers. next up is the actual sales person, this person is in their early 20's, usually from south america, knows nothing except that this miserable leaky wreck you are looking at has never been in an accident and has passed their 127 point inspection even though you can see the runny paint, bondo, fluid drips etc. you cant dicker with this person and you will never talk to a superior. the price is what it is. if you can find the owner on your own you can dicker with warranty, an accessory thats on another vehicle on the lot, getting something fixed, but not the price. theres still some of those crazy old salesmen out there sticking grannys purse under the front seat, putting the radio on a religious channel a 70 year old would listen too etc but the bigger used car dealers have changed their mo. wth does the concierge actually do, they are not even on site, most i can see is they pester you if you see something online. last go around i walked away from several used vehicles i never got within a hundred feet from
