Any tips on how to get smokeware cap off?

I bought a new one that’s all nice & shiny but my ole gunked one is stuck like chuck on the egg. Any tips on how to remove ?

Mine usually loosens up once I have lit a fire and it heats up.

@Hook_emHornsfan_74 process is how I get mine off when it is tight.  Mine gets loose after 1hr or so at 350.

Heat the outside with a torch? Hopefully it'll soften the greasy gunk and expand the metal.

thanks. For Clarification, it’s the bottom portion of the cap. Top part comes off easily.

Right.  Good example is how the bands get loose when you're running extra hot.  The metal expands more than the ceramic as a function of temperature increasing.

after getting side swiped in the rover a few years back it took almost two rolls of duck tape to get it to pass inspection. pretty close to the same paint color. looked at home in maine for a few weeks before i found a good repair shop. dont have the hat but do have the suspenders
