    You should try to say something more comforting during this pandemic stress.  =)

    @lkapigian - getting there. The fuse for this was back on April 17 or 18 (Fri/Sat) 2020 at the remote BAM Blast organized by the chairman, @JohnInCarolina.  The visionary then suggested a weekly Friday night Zoom to help with the challenges of all the restrictions coming down with respect to covid.  The first of those kicked off on April 24, 2020 and have been occurring every Friday since.  See, I don't have a life  =)  Drop in tonight.
    Edit:  hopefully the end point is out there somewhere as that means we have adapted to a new normal...but your guess as to when is as good as mine.

    @Potsticker - A Zoom session open to anyone on the forum  who requests the password (that is sent via forum PM).  It is free-flowing conversation about numerous and far reaching topics.   BBQ does get some play but there are many other subjects that generate quite some interest.
    There are two topics that are off-limits politics and religion; sometimes referred to as the third rail.  You can drop in and out on your schedule.  Some are "regulars" and others stop in on a random basis.  Nothing ventured, nothing gained.  FWIW-

    Just closed the Speakeasy.  It was a great and entertaining time.  This evening we were graced by the participation of @Florida Grillin Girl, the FIRST woman forum member to join the session.  Her enthusiastic participation was very much enjoyed and appreciated.  She was a class act while navigating the evening and definitely improved the decorum.  For the record, she has been cooking on the BGE since 1996 (she started out quite young.)
    As always, engaging interactions.  Learned something new this evening as well.
    Until the next one-

    We’ll just have to see about helping you work the Zoom to get you in to one of these sessions, brother.

    Thank you for the shout out, @lousubcap. It was a fun evening and thank you for welcoming me. I really appreciate it since I had no idea what to expect of the evening.
    Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

    And then you learn they are just like all the other miscreants you know in real life - except they cook on an egg. 🙂👨‍🍳🔥🌮🥘🍕

    Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
    "Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

    @SciAggie - I may resemble that remark!   B)
    @Florida Grillin Girl - You are most welcome.  I would venture that none of us know what to expect or anticipate any given Friday evening but they are all quite enjoyable and pretty much civilized given the time of day as you experienced.  The participants ebb and flow but the Zoom/speakeasy has been in continuous Friday evening operation since April 24, 2020.  A covid stress reliever and at the time it got rolling who could have predicted we would still be at it eleven months on and no near-term end-point in sight.

    When I get in Ron’s money and rectum are the first things I’m bringing up 👍
