That is a great score. I have to ask.....where you gonna keep it?
Cali has no room for a rice cooker, but can store that behemoth?  I want to know where too.
To clarify, it wasn’t exactly a space issue. Her exact words were “this house isn’t big enough for both a rice cooker and me.”

So, I bought an Instant Pot. Which is used to cook... rice! Almost daily =)

@northGAcock - tentatively planning on storing it in the formal dining room (which we’ve used 5 times in 11 yrs), or my office at work.
You can set it right next to the unopened table saw and 30 “spare” bags of Ozark Oak 😂

    that is a badass slicer

and I am proud to say I have been part of one of those 5 times you guys have used that dining room. It feels more special now knowing it is such a rare occurrence.

That table saw has since been opened, AND used :) Plus, I’m down to 5 bags of OO. There are likely more, but I can’t see them.

the formal dining has only been operational for family, and for those we consider to be family. The riff raff eat outside!

I have definitely been on the riff-raff side over there as well. I kind of prefer that. The coolers and grills tend to reside out there.

Y’all crack me up. Nice haul on the slicer @caliking

Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...

Yeah, I brought my slicer home, nothing near the size of that, I was given less than 24 hours to get it out of our kitchen. Wives just fail to understand who wears the pants around the house.

You will be doing great things, with that slicer. Awesome gain my friend.

So, I am wondering when Caliqueen says it has to go, I volunteer to take it next, and we can keep passing that thing around, when our wives tell us it’s time for it to go? Couple of Benjamin’s and some beer to be in the circuit is all it takes.

Maybe get a pool going, winner takes all, on the date Caliqueen decides it is time for that slicer to go? $1.00/guess to play? Winner uses the pot for transfer money. And start a new one for each owner?

Any chance the beer can be paid up front? Asking for a friend...

Caliqueen only sees what Caliking wants her to see. I am also quite certain the reverse is true. The fact Cali set this on the kitchen counter for a week was a test to determine where the slicer needs to be stored. There is a 0% chance this slicer finds a new home

    @caliking,

If you haven’t already do yourself a favor and invest in a pair of Kevlar kitchen gloves to use while cleaning the blade.

    Ask me how I know.

The mandoline slicer draws blood a couple of times a year, so I did think of that.

I have a pair of cut resistant gloves. Just need to be more diligent about wearing them. Any particular type/brand you recommend?

The chainmail gloves are the best.  Pricey.  Wish has them cheap but quality will be dubious.

These are what I have at home and what the cafeteria at works uses, they work great.

Its in a corner of the dining room. If I was a real d!ck, I would have stashed it in the study/caliqueen's pandemic office. After she spent most of Sunday organizing it :pirate:

I don't quite remember. I'm exhausted after sleeping with one eye open for the past week or so.
