I am quite confident that all here and world-wide will be extremely happy to see 2020 pass into the rear-view mirror and history at mid-night local time 2020.  As such, the virtual watering hole will be full-up and rolling at 5 PM (EST) Friday January 1, 2021 to enable any to socially distant celebrate in exquisite style.  You owe it to yourself to at least share a toast with like-minded  Q compatriots on Friday.  BTW- no dress code but decorum is appreciated in light of the non-sailors who may show up.   B)
No cover charge and no expenses other than to finish-off that expensive bottle of true champagne you opened the night before.
Hope to see you then.

As much as I’d like to drop in, I’ll likely be under the influence of narcotics post-surgery so I probably won’t make it.

@CTMike I actually have an alert to send you a PM tomorrow in advance of the surgery on 12/31.  So, might as well just serve it up here.  You've got this-as you saw in your prior replacement post, rehab is a crap-shoot but stick with it.
I have not been down the knee replacement deal but do have experience with two hip replacements.  In each case I was on a once a day narcotic by day 2 and off by day four.  Everyone responds differently but I am quite confident that we will have a few attendees under the influence of something that may contribute to clouded judgment.
Would that you feel well enough to drop in but appreciate the thought however it works out.
    Best of luck!

@CTMike I think I'd really like to hang out with you, especially if you're hopped up on a bunch of narcos....

The above session is gaining traction.  Glad to mention that at least two of our stalwart UK members will be on.  Always enjoy the international flavour (nod) so find a window and drop in.
He!!-anything to toss 2020 into history.
    Masks optional  =)

Thanks for the kind thoughts @lousubcap, I appreciate it. Not sure I will be in any condition to post tomorrow, but I’ll try and drop in Friday evening.

Before many of us get to serious celebrating (with the appropriate social norms in play) today, you should plan to stop in to the watering hole Friday night for a cleansing beverage of your choice.  Right now we have commitments from at least three in the UK.  Surely we can get that many Yanks on (or more) at the opening bell!
Happy New Year.  What a ride it has been.
Stay healthy and safe out there.

  • Cap...  just to ensure there is no unnecessary enthusiasm in any direction... your sentence...

You owe it to yourself to at least share a toast with like-minded  Q compatriots on Friday.

... is a humorous typo and not an invitation for any theory-based dissertations whatsoever.

@Buckwoody Egger Well, upon further review, I f'ed up but you get the idea, I'm sure.  I certainly was not an editor or an English major.
I am just trying to attract those who may enjoy the camaraderie, laugh and learn something-and tonight I am pacing for the end of this F'ING year!
There is a 100% chance I will make it!
    See ya Friday night!
    Happy New Year!

It was a funny typo for sure.  Anyone who wants to propagate Q related items must correlate them to Qbert on the Atari 2600 and rotating the controller 45 degrees.

I'll refrain from my deep state new years tradition of drinking pedo blood from a transparent glass.  I think I have an opaque one somewhere.

Sorry for the break in my participation as I had to attend to social requirements.
My thanks to @Stormbringer, @Eoin and @CPFC1905 for keeping the session under control and leaving the Speakeasy cleaner than when they found it.
Thoroughly enjoyed the interactions with those across the pond and the "locals" who dropped in.
Stay healthy and safe out there.
    Happy New Year!

The first session of 2021 is now retired.  It was great fun, as always.  Many thanks to all who logged on.  Always entertaining and learned something again.  Clean up complete but likely not nearly as well cared for as earlier.
BTW- @Stormbringer returned to keep the proper perspective and decorum til we wrapped it up.  Until the nest time.
Stay healthy and safe out there.
Many thanks to @JohnInCarolina for making this possible.

  • Sorry I didn’t make it back on, Frank, but it sounds like the session did the first day of 2021 justice.  Cheers!
