Funny story… I once had a boss who stood South of 5’. An awesome character with ambition and energy that I have not seen in any other individual to this day. Just tireless. He was the first phablet owner I ever knew. The memory of his diminutive frame saddled with this massive phone on his ear is one of my best memories of him.

Honey, does this electronic device make my ass look small?

I actually have a pretty small iPhone, and an ass/pockets that could hold 387 of them.
Been watching too many videos that don't involve kittens or whipped cream/mustard butts, and am now rebuilding my home office.  My biggest need right now is to replace my 13" macbook air, which is 11 years old and can't log into many things anymore and burns my legs (stuck at OS 10.10).  I will buy the next 16" Apple laptop, whether its an Air, Pro, or beginner model; I don't need the power, I just have a big, uh, "lap".
Have never worked with Apple's "SideCar", saw a few videos, and the Light Came On.  I've always wanted a touch-sensitive monitor, using a "pencil", for photo editing; using a mouse doesn't work well for me, and a separate tablet like a Wacom, much less so.  With Sidecar I could pencil-in on a horizontal pad (my new iPad), while looking at my bigger monitor (my old 27" iMac, also due for replacement).
The new iPad "may" take the place of my laptop, but I doubt it.  I see it becoming my photo editing tool, getting a separate 16" laptop for surfing/forums/cat videos in the living room, and replacing my old iMac with an even bigger one (or a mac mini (G1+/G2/BenQ photo monitor) in my office.
Rebuilding my home office will also involve cleaning off my desktop (land-line phone, VOIP receiver, adding machine, incandescent desk lamp, etc.  And paper, paper, paper!!!  Been watching some eye-opening videos from some (macmost on EweTube, highly recommended) that have been changing my mind about structuring my home workflow.
When the COVID parade finally dies down, I'll finally do what I should be doing in retirement (providing it hasn't already all burned down).  Until then, its fun to play with the Apple Ecosystem and fancy office chairs....

SWMBO and I just go back from mattress shopping. Went with a locally made company (Bowles) which is an hour south of us. ETA 6 weeks.

While we were out I stopped in at the Subaru dealership. New Outback is in my future. Been kicking tires for a year now

We need to mattress shop as well. Wifey has been having a lot of hip pain, so I’ve been researching what may be best for her. So many options; it’s overwhelming.

Bought my first Subaru (2018 Outback 3.6R - the “touring” model or whatever the highest-tiered equivalent is called for the U.S. market) a few years back. Love almost everything about it, save all of the tech. It has some weird idiosyncrasies. For example, every time you start the car, the radio turns on by default. There is no way around this. Also, while driving with the radio off, the car sometimes randomly emanates an ear-shattering sound from the speakers - a horrible noise at full bore that almost causes you to have an accident. It is amazing in the snow. We have long, harsh winters, and I can park in the deepest of snow banks and drive in the heaviest of snowfalls without issue. When we bought ours, we went with a demo and saved quite a bit of cash with full warranty and only 12000KMs on the odometer. Outfitted it with a Thule system for transporting luggage and bikes. Have been very pleased.

Had an electrician over to give me a price for installing my 240 volt car charger. $850 for app. 60 feet of wire, a sub panel, a box, conduit, and the appropriate screws and fasteners. To be done this coming Tuesday.
That sounds reasonable.  My next car may be electric, so I'll have to eventually do the same.

That would add up fast, sounds reasonable depending on how
far the leg is from the panel.

I forgot to add that the charger itself was a separate order and $635. So add that to the $850.

I got that same chainsaw. Love it. Gave away my old gas powered Stihl to our 16yo neighbor kid yesterday.

I am a little skeptical of the 1/4” chain, it looks like dental floss compared to what I normally run but it will be damn handy.

Smaller the kerf the faster it cuts.

It's so handy (and quiet) the cons outweigh the pros by a long shot. It's perfect for anything under 8".  It also doesn't wear me the F out like a big gas powered one does, not exactly sure why. I'm not fighting it as much it seems.

Did you already have the Mule or did you use the smoker as a reason to get it?

My biggest issue is with sharpening, I use a electric bench grinder and those tiny teeth will take some patience. You can cut faster with wider kerf chain but it requires more hp.

I've had it for about 3 years now.  Wife wanted the Mule b/c she grew up on the farm we live on now, so it was an easy sell. Wanted something to cart the kids around. Her family lives down the road so she's always taking it back 'n forth.  The smoker? Well, she don't know how much it costs yet and I'm hoping to keep it that way.  It was a lot less that the Mule at least.  B)

@SonVolt - how do you intend to finesse the cost and keep it submerged and undetected.  I may be old here but that is a trick I can learn and appreciate.  B)

With guitars I'd just sneak them up stairs and she'd never know the difference. This, this I haven't quite figured out yet. She's going to keep asking. I'm going to have to get creative... possibly even tell the truth. But let's not hope it comes to that.

His dad brought him over to get it. Hopefully he'll be supervised.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
