Bought a selection of rubs and glazes from a guy at the guy show. He was giving out samples of fish that he had cooked in it.

This is a safe judgement free zone.  How was it and how was it cooked?

I hate autocorrect!  Thanks for the clarification.  Any guns at the gun show?

Several hundred though they tended to be overpriced and in oddball rifle calibers. A wider selection of modern pistols and shotguns. But almost no ammunition or reloading supplies.

That's what I feared you were going to say. I don't want to shoot until I can replace what I fire.

I have an Anaconda and a King Cobra on order from my Colt dealer.  He just tells me to say my prayers every night, no idea when they might ship.

My Dad got his 4.25" Python this week.  He waited three months for it.

I guess if you're buying your first gun and there are roving gangs of cannibals in your hood and no police presence...  I could see being impatient buying a gun.  But most people that buy them already have a collection.  Buying while the market is high doesn't seem like a good way to expand your collection...

No, but buying while the market exists is.  Our esteemed ruler has made clear his intentions.  An unarmed populace is the goal.  Especially, once Kamala takes over.

Just because people are fearful, doesn't mean they are not correct.  Remeber the nobody who makes less than $400k tax remark?  Suddenly became no house hold making less than $400k?

Biden and Kamala have both stated their goals.  Their policy page during the election stated the goal to eliminate all semi-automatic (yes all semi-automatic),  "assault" style guns, high capacity magazine (floated the idea for removable mags all together), etc.  This is informed reaction.

If you are saying they put on their policy page they want to ban "all semi-automatic" weapons, you'd fail a fact check.  This is about as true as the NRA claim that said he wanted to ban all 9mm guns.

They commonly refer to semi-automatic as "assault rifle".  These are synonyms for the Democrats.

At the time that the now-defunct Federal Assault Weapons Ban passed in 1994, the U.S. Department of Justice said, "In general, assault weapons are semiautomatic firearms with a large magazine of ammunition that were designed and configured for rapid fire and combat use."[3] The origin of the term has been attributed to legislators, gun control groups, firearm manufacturers, and the media.[1][4][5][6][7] It is often used interchangeably (but incorrectly) with the term "assault rifle", which may more specifically refer to selective-fire military rifles that can fire in automatic or burst mode.[5]

It is cute how you assume our politicians can read, are interested in facts, and care about freedom.

Either you're pushing the troll envelope for fun or you're not as smart as I assumed you were.  Just keep in mind this is your thread and I'm not the one injecting the corrosive politics in this friendly discussion (if it sinks it).

Hey, sorry I missed 'em! I tend to ignore the gun fetishists. I must have struck a nerve in the past and now you're on the lookout for me. Post something more interesting and I'll get all angry-like for you.

My data driven conclusions about golf clubs/sets:
Every set contains a fixed number of good shots.  Once those are used up, time to buy a new set.  Thus really good golfers must buy more frequently as they consume the allocated good shots at a very high rate.  That's my story... B)

What to do, what to do...
The "power coupler" portion of my Kitchenaid blender that self-destructed last week, is no longer manufactured.  On eBay I can buy the entire base unit for $30, but it was pretty beat up (mine is 20-25 years old but pristine (except for the coupler)).  I could buy an entire refurbished unit for $60, but I shy away from "refurbished" based on past experiences.  I could design the part in AutoCAD and have this place in SLC make me a new one, but that will cost more than a new blender (plus I no longer have a specimen to reverse-engineer).  I could buy a new blender for $OMG.  I could go without a blender (I didn't use it that much) and get by with a combination of chef's knife, food processor and molcajete...
    What to do...

Get a Vitamix. My KitchenAid Proline blender is junk comparatively. It now lives in the garage for when we need frozen drinks by the pool.
