Google nest officially installed.  Didn’t order the trim kit not realizing how tiny this thing is.

Whole shoulders or legs 93 cents/lb (CA$1.19), picked up four only due to lack of freezer space, these folks put me to shame  :)
Little Steven would have piled them on the garage floor  =) miss you buddy

Edit: wish I took a video...when the butcher wheeled out the tall cardboard bin and cut out one side, the 'lady' in brown literally dove in on all fours, picking and grabbing, preventing access by anyone else, unreal  :o

Someone talk me out of buying my wife a large SUV (Expedition, Tahoe etc). She claims she needs the room w/2 kids, little league sports equipment and all her sales job detritus. I suggested a minivan and she gave me the stink eye.

We have the GMC equivalent of the Tahoe.  Absolutely love it, they hit it out of the park.  Especially with the  6.2L V8. I recommend you go for the big SUV.

Sorry man, you are already screwed.

But: Tell her how by just driving one off the lot it depreciates x amount of it's value and the bigger SUVs take some of the largest depreciation, especially if there's a spike in fuel costs. Vehicle prices, new and used, are high now. There will be a day of reckoning where all those who bought at these inflated rates will suffer a quick drop in net worth. When that happens:  buy! swarm! swarm!

indoor 70 degrees.....is it summer already
Central part of the house is kept around 70, but the bedrooms are typically mid to low 60s due to cheap windows and cheap construction of the house.  Have to keep it a little warmer for the little ones than I would like.

We currently have a traverse and have been happy with it outside of I wish it had sliding doors. That is the number one thing I dislike about normal doors and car seats, especially in a parking lot.  I have my wife talked into a minivan for the next vehicle but may do a traverse again since the kids will be pretty much out of car seats by then.  Really like the space and the seats flip down.  Otherwise she wants a Pacifica and I absolutely hate Chrysler products.

We have a Gx460 and can easily accommodate 2 kids plus gear. You don't need a Tahoe or expedition if you have 2 kids. I'd look at the new grand Cherokee or a certified pre owned Gx460 or Infiniti QX if I were you. All of the large SUVs are severely overpriced for what you get with the exception being the Denali level trimmed Yukon. That is a very well equipped SUv for the money.

Been down that road and landed with an Expedition.  Great soccer hauler, especially if they end up with the traveling team deal.  She wanted the SUV and a minivan was never on the radar.  Early on only around 5-7K miles/year, then 12-15K/yr for about a 4 year run.  Around 80% of that mileage was kid sport related.  FWIW-

Work up the monthly note and estimated fuel bill and ask her what is going to be cut out of the budget to cover it.. My folks used to drive around with the three of use in a Chevrolet Impala. I imagine all of the other soccer moms have one so she needs one too.

We vowed never to own a minivan.

We've had various suburbans, Yukons, and excursions.  They've all served us well. I still hold out hope for Ford to bring back diesel excursion or diesel suburban.

Stop it.  Cars are emotional purchases.  Get what you want, then enjoy the drive.

I know Ford had some major issues with their 5.3 that was in their Expedition/F-150. Hopefully they have turned things around.

Not positive, but I don't think anyone mentioned this was going to be a hardship for anyone.

Our (her) Bronco due to be delivered early next week. Only reason we didn’t go larger is due to unusually low stupid garage ceiling height. Think old lady land yacht days…..buy once, cry once….I also mentioned a minivan. She told me I’d be driving it if I came home with one

If you can even find one.  My coworker has been waiting 4 months for his wife's Tahoe to be made.  They haven't even started it yet.

I know you guys get big SUVs that are bigger than those we get here, but I always found them to be pretty space inefficient for hauling kids around. The only thing we found here, apart from an actual van based bus, that would move us with 5 kids and all their crap was a Toyota Previa or a Grand Voyager. We got the Previa, great car. Added a roof box for holidays.

2 kids is Ford Focus territory.

Ford Focus for 2 adults and 2 kids?  Surely, you are jesting.  Some dark British humour I presume.

Different world here, although massive SUVs are reproducing at an alarming rate. Long term low interest rates make PCP finance attractive and easy.

We went down to rural south of France last year where most people still drive around in ancient, battered, small cars. The credit culture is less developed in France, which is a good thing. They buy what they can afford.

Homo sapiens emerged 200,000 years ago, and I can't figure out what the hell parents did to move their kids and stuff the past 199,900 years before cars.   Probably just sat on a rock and cried.

    Disclaimer: I've been wrong before.

You say that, my little bro bought a Pappy 23 at Costco for $300 last year when they got their allocations. Sold it for 4 grand two weeks ago
