@Mark_B_Good - is that an addition to the stable or a replacement for your tricked out muscle car? The price point for the MC-20 is right up there once you price in the adds.  Sweet.

Thanks everyone for the best wishes.
I, out of interest sake, wanted to determine a trade value for the Stage 2 TTRS ... CAD 50k ... not even close to worth it for me.  The TTRS is actually my daily ... so I'd have to replace it with another daily ... and pay at least 35k for something that isn't even half the car. I kind of knew it would end up at that place in terms of a decision, but to squeeze $15k out to contribute towards the MC20 deal is a drop in a bucket ... and then I lose the TTRS which I cannot replace? Made no sense.

So I have both cars. MC20 will take the spot in the garage, and I continue to use the TTRS as my daily and also my track car. The TTRS almost competes with the MC20 ... almost (the way it is at Stage 2) ... and if I have an issue at the track ... I'd rather it be the TTRS than the MC20 ... so I'll keep tracking the TTRS.

I like your logic!  I know too many folks who sold off cars only to regret it later.

He rhymed off a few things. Not sure if these are options or if he was just naming standard features - hydraulic ride height control, carbon fiber hood and roof, upgraded brakes, etc. He also said something about a red-delete on one of the back lights(?). Went with the regular seats vs the upgraded racing buckets, as he has some hip issues and values comfort. I’ll be able to give you a better tally when I see it, but I can ask him for the spec sheet if you’re curious.

He was also pleased that he put down his deposit when he did, as he was able to avoid a new luxury tax that would have added $30K to the price tag.

I do love the classic lines of this one but IMO the American offering is less appealing due to the mandatory NHSTA bumpers on the front and the back...the "across the pond" version didn't to require these and made a big difference in the overall lines

It's often kinda funny how expensive nostalgia can be. I'm guessing a 240 is also just as or more $pendy these days?

So…. How is the availability in your neck of the woods?

I found this amusing.  Nowadays the Teslas (and I assume other EVs) contact the 'netz to find available recharging stations.  One of the few car review channels I still follow (TheStraightPipes.com) are based in Toronto, and they continually harp about the recharging stations that are always "Out of Order" (very good to know).

Something else I read recently was how horse-drawn carts, and horseback, were replaced by them newfangled gas-o-line engine thingies, over only ten years or so! (this was early 20th-century).

After a quick google search, I discovered that there was a gas shortage in May, June and July of this year.  I wasn't born yet.  It also said there was a shortage in 1974.

I think it would be fun to dial those numbers and ask some questions.

I remember those  shortages. In Virginia (and perhaps other states also) you could only buy gas on odd or even days based on your license plate.

@kl8ton It sounds like things are going good with your sons business if they are renting a shop at this point. That's fantastic! (Detailing if I'm not mistaking?) Our detailing shop here in town is like playing Tetris with cars in their parking lot. While the parking lot isn't very big it has endless cars waiting to be detailed year round. I'm hoping they're seeing the same business your way.

Thing I like best about my EV is that it's quiet. Hadn't realized how pervasive IC motor sounds are, and it's sure nice not to hear it while driving.

Carbon fiber hood and roof is standard on the GT3RS, the Weissach package highlights them in gloss black.

The ride height control may be the front axel lift for getting into driveways and over speed bumps and stuff.  That is a highly recommended option, and the carbon ceramic brakes are an upgrade that really help on the track.  Having comfortable seats is a good call too.

It sounds like a great spec, keeps the track focus, while making some livability and use concessions.  Looking forward to seeing some photos when he gets it delivered!
