Just a reminder:
(almost) Anything goes on greeneggers.com
is the user interface ca 1998? Sure. (Though it actually does have some virtues, one being sidebar threads within the main post)
It’s ad supported (good and bad), the literal “original” green egg forum, you can use your bad words if you must, and it really would help pay back the people who started it for free and had it taken away (or maybe ‘pleasantly usurped) by corporate after years of expense and upkeep.
I submit that none of the benefits of this forum are worth the random and capricious thread sinking and user banning here. And none of the weaknesses of the decidedly retro older site are deficient enough to undo the virtue of its relative freedom.Further:
If people here are serious about having their own place, free from corporate hang dogs, you could not merely migrate to the old place, but then work as a team to decide what it would take to upgrade, improve, and fund it.Maybe server space is so ridiculously expensive that you are all willing to put up with a moderator (who probably doesn’t even own an egg) that checks in once every three days when the “flaggot” flags build up, and sinks your stuff.Just a thought. -
I wish people would take this forum more seriously, it could really become something incredible.

We'll be arranging for a card and some flowers to be sent to Ozzie if you want to chip in. Last I talked to him he was still curled up in a fetal position and only able to eat Froot Loops."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike -
