I am in the year round Daylight time camp, even living on the western edge of the Eastern Time zone.
Anyone else?

I like the standard time that we just switched to.

When I lived there and to this day I will take it year round.  However, I admit that I would take any time zone HI served up with that weather.

Wonder what his HOA's position is on daylight vs. standard time.

We had flexible work hours at HAFB, as long as you didn't arrive before 0500 or after 0800, so it didn't matter too much to me.  It did kinda screw up lunches, for awhile restaurants that opened at 11 couldn't serve wine/beer until 12, then it was 11:30 for beer but 12 for wine; I have no idea what the rules are now.
But I'm retired now, and a slightly-chilled Pińot Grigio goes well with a Tornado Breakfast Omelette with Gruyére, sauteéd mushrooms, bacon and sourdough toast...   =)

@nolaegghead - in a previous life I was a Time Lord of a fashion as the shipboard time zone was ours to manage.  An example, when crossing the Date Line westward we didn't change the date but kept retarding the clocks by about one hour/15* longitude (creating our own time zone) to be in sync with the local time.  As soon as we pulled into port we advanced the clocks 24 hours to get the date right.
Everything that mattered was done, recorded and documented in Zulu time so the date didn't matter.  Spent many days literally from a time/date perspective in our own world.

Working with data in databases and applications with all kinds of dates from different time zones you learn there is only one time on the planet (and off in space).  That is Zulu.  Everything else is an offset of that universal time because of geopolitical context.  Dates and times are stored in computers as Zulu time with a number, which is the number of days after (or before) an arbitrary date and time.  That makes date math easy.  One week later is date + 7, for example.  When it is displayed, it is converted by offset in context of use.

I'd rather pick one time and stick to it, whatever it is.

I (used to ) travel overseas a bunch.  That larger shift seemed easier than a 1hr time change twice a year, or a 2 hr time change to California.

    Q: What time is it?
A: When you asked me, or what time is it now?

    Tulsa time.

can anybody tell me how to reset my clock on my oven and microwave? I wish they built these changes into the clocks memory. But when you purchase American products made by Chyna, you get what you get.

Changing clocks is a useful today as a dial up telephone ... we work 24h/7 days a week now ... having more "light" in the morning does nothing for power consumption, especially with the huge movement to go with LED lighting.  I'd stay with daylight savings for sure ... it's aweful that it's pitch black at 4:30 in the afternoon in mid Dec.

Nola, I believe there were actually seven, if you count the first outing with David Niven in some kind of spoofy version.

And I am with SciAggie. I like to maximize my daylight after work hours. What the h$ll good is light before work?

For the kids sake (not you guys, the little ones)....I think it is good to have the morning daylight for catching the bus and safety. For all the other reasons discussed already, I really don't care one way or the other. A minor convenience / inconvenience to me.

I live on the Western edge of the Eastern time zone. It stays plenty light plenty late in the summer even without DLST. I'm a morning person so I'd prefer standard time. I hate driving to work in the dark.
