Senator Murkowski of Alaska has already said that she won't vote to confirm a nominee until the new president is inaugurated. I doubt the two lady senators for Maine will either. As I said I think waiting until January 20th if Trump is reelected in November is excessive and these three women would take that stance at their political peril. Meanwhile the Affordable Care Act indicates that 51 votes rules it seems. You might be able to add Romney to the other three that I mentioned, Utard could prevent the 51st vote, Botch would like that.
They would need four GOP Senators to stop it.  We'll see what kind of profiles in courage we'll see on this one, but we haven't exactly seen a whole lot of that yet.
    I just named 4.
No, you mentioned 3.  There are not 2 lady senators from Maine - Susan Collins is the only one.  The other, Angus King, is an independent who caucuses with the Dems.

She did.  Looks like you’ll need to come up with another R vote.

But it’s a moot point really.  If Trump’s nominee doesn’t get a vote before the election, I’d be really surprised.

I can see them waiting; giving incumbents in tight races like Gardner, Collins, Tillis, Graham, and Gaines some cover.

But, once those races are over, a replacement will be confirmed between Thanksgiving and Xmas.

Well, this Tweet answers one of the questions.

Just watched the driver of the unmarked suburban, with windows blacked out, and emergency lights mounted inside, with standard ear piece and shades, push and elbow a 60+ year old man, just out of the blue. I was standing there when it happened. Don’t know if the guy got too close, but I was closer to him, so I really have no idea why.

^^^ Incidentally, as part of an argument I had elsewhere, I used Google yesterday to look at the DHS's "Oath of Office", to see if it was close to the DoD's, swearing allegiance to the US Constitution.  Got two hits from the dhs.gov website, but for both links I got "Safari cannot open the page".  :s
    It's happening, folks.

    So, you are pro life?

Tell me about how you feel about 200,000 Tax paying American citizens, who have died due to the conservative right wing handling Covid 19?

Kind of hypocritical coming from the pro life party.

Btw, if keeping score, the last 4 months of deaths, doubled the first 4 months.

This is a big deal, but to be fair every Senator and Congressman in D.C. will contradict themselves if it suits the current narrative, that is not a trait owed by on party or the other...  Basically it comes down to one thing, you need to "strike while the iron is hot", the party that controls the Senate writes the calendar end of story!

Because as a woman, she understood what a 13 year old girl would feel like after being stripped searched? Another opinion written that was never challenged.

How would you feel if your 13 year old daughter was stripped searched?

It is beyond me, for any human being, to think that any form of that action, is done to preserve security in America.

    Evangelistic right wing hypocrisy abounds.

It just shows how political this is and has been . She was sick and not able to do the job she was appointed to yet wouldn't step down. She didn't want a conservative to replace her. You also have a few republicans already saying they will not vote for the new appointee even though they don't know who it is.

I'm in the camp of Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia when it come to the SCOTUS judges. I want a Constitutional view and interpretation rather than a party agenda. I'm not saying she didn't do any good but I'm not a fan you may say. RIP

Right wing handling...? You mean in the Democrat run cities by Democrat governors and mayors? Who shut down travel at a very early stage and called names by Democrats? Who worked with private industry to get the supply chain in high gear? Who got the mobile hospitals out to the hotspots in record time? Then tell me who crammed sick elderly people together in nursing homes. LOL...But its the right wingers fault..... What a goof you are.

  • Who was saying something about the hypocrisy of the right??

    https://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/11/us/politics/ruth-bader-ginsburg-no-fan-of-donald-trump-critiques-latest-term.html

Asked if the Senate had an obligation to assess Judge Garland’s qualifications, her answer was immediate.

“That’s their job,” she said. “There’s nothing in the Constitution that says the president stops being president in his last year.”
