@botch , @Eoin it’s apparently a distribution issue. Since commercial demand for things like flour and dairy products is drastically reduced now, distribution channels can’t quite get those items to retail.

I was saddened to see that dairy farmers are having to dump milk straight from milking to manure pits. So many kids and people don’t get enough of the nutrients that milk can provide.

Re: flour, it’s a packaging issue (at least in the UK, per a BBC article). Commercial customers buy flour in large packages, retail customers buy it 5lbs or less at a time. There’s lots of flour, but not enough retail packaging to get it into stores.
We buy mail order from a mill in 25 kg sacks - they have been sold out for weeks.
    We buy in 50,000# trucks
    Well, there goes that theory...

  • For those having difficult finding flour, I bet you could procure some cricket flour online, if not in store.

For those having trouble, just go to your local bakery and buy some. Most bakeries are “essential business” due to food manufacturing.

    Dolin vermouth.
I ran out three weeks ago, stood in line for 15 minutes to get two bottles of it. 5:00 is much better now that I have it.

@Vegas Slim We happened to go into the Ace on Horizon Ridge the other day to get some Rockwood. The owner happened to have one large bottle left from a shipment they got that day. Great offer!

Had to run into Publix to get some of our son’s milk. Ended up scoring wings, ribs, a 8lb butt and grabbed some modelo on the way out.

I struck out on wings for the third consecutive try.
  • Tried Costco again last night for chicken wings and no go. Two weeks ago chicken wings were the only protein I could find. Now I can get everything but good wings.

Can't find a decent prime brisket under 19.9 pounds.  Lots over 20 pounds but no small ones.  It seems that they are at a premium now that people have time but are only cooking for the few people in the house.

Yeah.  I was looking for a 11-12 pounder.  There were a bunch of prime briskets.  One at 15+ pounds that didn't feel right, one that was 19.9 pounds that I bought, and a bunch (at least 8) over 20 pounds.
