Not a great day - trying to make it better.

We were supposed to have a lunch/gathering at my FIL’s today but his health became hospice today. He was really looking forward to today. MIL is in Lifecare because of a stroke but was also looking forward to the get together which had to be cancelled. 

My wife and I however decided to cook on so we could deliver food to the rest of the family. She made salads, cut up watermelon and I put 4 racks on the egg. BIL was going to make the other proteins but didn’t for obvious reasons. 



Used Rasta Joe’s for the rub. They won the Nugget cook off a few years ago here in Reno/Sparks and the family likes it.

Oh, so very sorry for the sad situation.  It's too sad for words that they missed out on what would have been a great day.  But still, your work and wonderful looking food surely were a gift to family who had gathered, and a great way to deal with it all,  Great job!

He lived a good life, was 88 and passed in his sleep after a year of struggling. Worst part was to go and get his wife from Lifecare (she had a stroke a year ago), take her to the hospital and then back.
