There's a good chance that everyday olive oil is fake.  Even some of the expensive stuff is fake.  Read the book "extra virginity" for the low down.  Interesting stuff....

I’m guessing Sams Choice isn’t the correct answer here...

Real connosei,  connuseu, er, people who are good at food press their own, like me, in their garlic press.  One Olive at a Time.  I prefer Del Monte.

Don't know about Sam's but my daily use oil comes in a box. Except we're fancy folks and call it a cask.

The best wines come in a box.

As far as oils, we use acvodad oil for most stuff. Unless my wife isn't helping cook, then I use bacon grease.

I buy this one at Costco. Not because I’m a connoisseur, but because it looks fancy 😁. It even has dates and stuff.

Years ago, Filippo Berio was trying to enter the Indian market, since cooking with olive oil is not really a thing there. But virtually every grandmother diligently massages their grandbabies with some kind of oil after baths. It used to crack me up to see the Filippo Berio ads  with smiling babies in them. It didn’t really catch on.
We love this olive oil from Costco, and only $10 for a liter.

Is he allowed to go and pick him out a bottle himself?

Good question, I’ve never asked if he would want to.  I don’t think he recognizes the bottle or label, would have to train him up.
    Love you bro!

California evoo is the purest way to make sure some dirty Italian mafioso didn’t dilute your oil with vegetable/fentanyl/used motor oil blend.  Pretty sure ATK/cooks country agrees.  Buy sep-oct harvest year prior for freshest harvest.  Berrio is one of the names getting sued for being watered down garbage.    Berrio probably better suited for Kraft therapeutic massage sessions.

Not anymore. California Olive Ranch just pulled a bait 'n switch and now sources their olives globally. Up until a few months ago their EVOO was harvested 100% from California.  Their bottles now say "Destination Series" to reflect the change.
Their Destination Series is just a separate line of oils. They still sell some lines that are 100% Cali sourced.

Technically that's true, but Publix, Walmart, Kroger and most of the other national chains have all switched over to the Destination Series. Sucks b/c you could walk into a Walmart in Blytheville AK and get a really great bottle of olive oil for relatively cheap.

I haven't tried the Destination Series yet... it may be great.

@northGAcock I asked, he’s not interested in sourcing the oil himself, just wants to be served.

Shakin my head. Has it made, as long as he stays clear of HD that has a sign on the door. Does he read well?

Not to hijack a thread, but, having lived in Europe for a few short stays, it was not unusual to see owners with their dogs inside restaurants (and no they were not on the menu).

Germany, Italy, Spain, and others seemed to have no issues with this.

Rose loves EVOO, just a couple of drops, on her food. I also use chicken broth for her as well.

Yes, there is some things wrong with me.

Ron, I think the olive oil has been beat up right well. Dogs is a worthy hijack, besides its Michael's thread so, who cares. (JKOC)

Part of socializing and teaching a dog requires you to take them places where they will encounter people, other dogs, noises, smells etc. away from home. I appreciate the dog friendly restaurants and businesses locally that bring or have water outside for our fury friends. They are creating dog friendly environments, and those are places i tend to support. I am a dog lover and will have one as long as i am able to take care of him or her. Like everything else, we each have our opinions, and deservedly so, they vary. If you have a dog and i visit your home or see you out and about.......I hope we can socialize together. Just who i am. I however use some common sense and don't take mine where it simply makes him or myself uncomfortable.
