While not my particular style of music, I took a listen. You have some catchy stuff and you have some talent. I'm not a touring musician anymore but I've been playing for over 25 years. My biggest advice would be to try and reduce the length of some of your songs.

Maybe try to reduce a verse here and there. If you really desire to "be a rock star" most casual fans wont want to listen to a song for 5+ minutes no matter how catchy it is. When I used to tour we always tried to shorten our songs to around 3-3.5 minutes. Did you record all the instruments or is this you and your band?

hey thanks a bunch for taking the time to listen!  Yes, I should have mentioned that I am simply recording for myself, and I actually dont have any ambition to try and "make it" these days.....therefore, I dont really worry too much if the song is too long etc.  I am used to listening to bands like Kansas, Dream Theater and Pink Floyd, Rush, amongst many many others, so long songs are kind of the norm.

but i do agree that if I were trying to get the on the radio or with a "record deal", some self editing would be a necessary evil.

nearly 100% of what you are hearing is all done by me in my studio.  Occasionally, here and there, I have a couple of buddies that lend some keyboard parts and a few guitar solos....but outside of that, it's all me, good or bad.

I really appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment!

If you can make it down to butt blast, I am sure we can set up a live studio audience for you to play in front of.  You have some great stuff!

Nice! Ya, I can see those influences in your music. I have a large musical taste and even moreso a gear taste. After I quit playing every weekend and started a family I have reduced my gear significantly and just don't play like I used to. I used to own one of Geddy Lee's basses (an actual bass he owned, not his Fender Custom shop stuff) but after clearing house I got rid of it.

Oh wow!   Man that would be awesome to own one of his basses!!!!  Very cool that you did.

Yes, I have bad bad gear buying habit.  My wife tolerates it pretty well most of the time.  But she kind of got worried when I got into bbq so hot and heavy years ago because now I had another habit that required more stuff to be bought.  Lol

Here is a video of a band that played a few years ago at the second or third Brisket Camp.

They did a great job on the main stage.

For a guy on a BBQ forum, you sounded pretty darn good to me. I wouldn’t mind teaming up with you and let’s record some of my “Trump” songs to post on YouTube just to piss the snowflakes off. I have some pretty darn good ones that I wrote. In fact, I just finished up “Trump Train” a few days ago. It’s a good one. I would love to put it to music.
You should definitely start a new thread based on your Trump Train song and post all of the lyrics.  I’m sure everyone would love to see it!

I have no doubt that the good, God fearing folks would love it. They raved over my Christmas poem “Twas the Night Before Trump”. However, I didn’t even post my other Christmas poems due to the recent Buffaloism.
With that said, I think my poems and songs would be even more appreciated if I put them to music and they could here me sing them in my powerful baritone voice. Plus if they were on YouTube, the Buffalo could not strike.
Im hoping that he takes me up on my offer. I feel that my songs at a minimum would be a YouTube hit.

I think if you can manage to sign the song while shaving your balls on the video, you’d probably get more than a few hits on YouTube, and maybe also some marriage proposals from some Log Cabin Republicans.

I can most certainly sing and shave at the same time. I fathered all my children while shaving =)

    Much better than I expected.

for any of you that like some of my stuff enough to download etc.  I am including a link to an album I have on Bandcamp.  It's a name your own price deal, so you can download it for free.....but if you want to donate to the cause that can be done, if you want.  I am fine either way, I set it up that way.....we all want to get paid, if for no other reason to help pay for the gear in my studio.....but the main thing is that I just want to share my creations with folks who are interested, so it's free for those who want it free!!!  enjoy!

Yes but all those good, God fearing forum members had a chance to witness its greatness before it was killed.  You only live once man.
