This is a first in 7 years , found an actual lump of what appears to be coal in my Royal Oak. Heavy and hard , definitely not wood. Kinda pissed , it took up a decent amount of space in the bag I’m sure .

Looks like concrete or mortar from the kiln, as you say, definitely not wood.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

Maybe they were running the coal burning stove for heat and accidentally dropped some coal in a bag.SGH said:

First time in 7 years and you're pissed? You should be delighted!

It's not coal. It's either a rock or a piece of the kiln.
It happens to the best of us, so chuck it and egg on, or take the bag back for a refund if it's worth enough for your time. -

What were you expecting? A decoder ring?
I have a pile of that stuff, found in the bottom of the bags, when I dump them. No biggie. I have had some large enough to use in landscaping borders."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber
