Been receiving the Texas Monthly free email blast for several years.  After @texaswig 's above thread I decided to go "all in".  The hook is set.  I figure this is a whole lot better investment than jumping back on the Sports Illustrated train even with some deep promos given I was with that mag for 40+ years.  Time will tell.  FWIW-

Ordered up some (25') 1/2" OD high pressure air line (DOT, rated for 435psi) and some 1/2" NTP to 1/2" tubing PTC fittings to replace the vinyl hose that's on my compressor air distribution system. Basically, from the compressor to the first set of hard pipe assemble. Then from that to the second assembly (I separate the tool side from the media blasting and painting side). All the PTC fittings are rated for either 150psi or 300psi. My current compressor goes up to 130/135psi maximum. So should be safe. I'm only changing out four barb fittings to the PTC fittings at this time. Although I might change out another pair if I have enough hard line to do that (to the final dessicator on the dry air side).

The line and fittings are due tomorrow. I already have 20' of the same line. 20' wasn't enough to both go from the compressor to the first assembly and jump to the second one (or was too close to call) as I want to run it. Hopefully, the stuff will show up early enough tomorrow for me to swap out the existing fittings for the new ones. Then let it sit for at least a few hours, so the thread locker can cure (2 hour minimum, 24 hour total cure). Then fire it up on Wednesday to make sure everything holds.

Last weekend I had removed the old drain from the compressor (removed about a pint of water from it first) and installed an elbow and high pressure line (24") with a ball valve on it to make draining it easier. Yesterday I did that over again using Loctite pneumatic tread locker instead of the tape.

For once L'ville was with the front pack.  Was out visiting a market on a "they have briskets on sale" heads-up Saturday.  Walked into a hatch chilies offering, mild or hot for 0.99/lb.  Loaded up and smoked 'em Sat PM.  He11 of a deal for these parts.
BTW- did bag a good looking angus brisket as well.  Way to start a weekend.
For the locals;  Lucky's market off Hurstbourne.
Better to be lucky than good any day!

I usually get Mediums (you can always add heat if necessary, but can't take it out) but the choices today were Medium, Hot, and Extra Hot!  After living in NM for 5 years I know that the growing season has a large effect on the chile's heat, maybe this was a Hotter Than Normal season.  Went with Mediums again, even though they were the "low" choice.  This year's crop were unusually Large, most of the chiles were 9" to 13" long!
I normally whip up a batch of Green Chile Stew as I'm bagging/freezing the year's stash, but today we hit another all-time record, 99º on 2 September; a hot stew just didn't sound good.  I'll know how hot this year's batch is, maybe next weekend.

I tried making pepper stout beef with a few "Hatch" chile peppers and they were damn near atomic. My wife refused to eat it and I wound up ruining the cook. On the other hand, if theres no heat might as well use bell peppers. It's tough to know.

Bought 10 2 x 4' LED shop lights.  Have a 2 post lift picked out....but need a forklift to get it off the truck.  So looking at forklifts, which I can also use to do everything from service the ceiling to setting up some vertical shelving and storing cooking gear, etc.  Plus, forklifts are f*ckning cool.

That seems a bit extravagant. Did it include new plywood decking, old material haul off, peel and stick sub roofing, and a premium color?
