Here in the UK it's Londoners. Same before the 2008 crash, people cashed in on over inflated prices in the London area and moved out, forcing prices up to unrealistic levels elsewhere.

Yes, no state income taxes is a huge draw for corporations focused on human capital and recruiting. Like @TEXASBGE2018 said, the Dallas market was less impacted than many other major cities across the US.

I used to work in taxable fixed income securities sales and trading and mortgage backed securities still scare me. Good idea in theory, but...

Just placed the order for my next cell phone. Pixel 4XL (128GB, unlocked version). Had $50 in google store financing credit on my account. Plus I'm trading in my Pixel 2XL (after the new one arrives ;)) for a bit more off. The trade-in negates the cost of the extra protection coverage (just in case). I saw something about getting another $100 in accessories credit if you order (or pre-order) before the 26th. Will see what comes of that. Didn't see anything on the store that was a big enough draw to me. I'll get 24 months 0% financing on the phone this way. I'll probably pay it off in about a year (or so). I did that when I bought my 2XL.

    How's your floor?

I measured the concrete thickness and it's over 4 inches.  I'm going to assume it's at least 3000 psi since it was originally a commercial car-wash.  We shall see.

I'd want more than a 4" floor to work under those, they're not like ramps where it's just a compression load, if the floor or fixings give, they'll fall right over.

4 inches is fine if its reinforced, not many cracks so it looks like it was done right

I gave up drilling after 6.5 inches.  Concrete is thick and hard (like your mom told me).

The kit comes with shims to correct up to 3 degrees of un-levelness (if that's a word).  Going for it.

6" is good. Being a picky type, I'd expect you to do better than 3 degrees. Grab a bag of grout to flood under the bases once they're bang on.

@DoubleEgger aside from the excellence of your jokes, I did try the barkeeper's friend on my smoky Le Creuset pan and it worked great, until I put it back in the Egg!

Rub a thin coat of liquid dish soap on the outside of the pan before you put it in the egg, soot will come right off afterward.

Thanks for thinking about me but that wasn’t my suggestion. I’ve never used BKF before. I need to get some...

I have a good golfing buddy that never misses a "that's what she said" opportunity. It's amazing how often it is applicable in everyday life. Almost like Seinfeld references.

Pots are meant to be used. It would feel insulted and neglected if it wasn’t.

This is my favourite Le Creuset, I can't remember how long I've owned it, but over 30 years. It never gets neglected for long.
