    I will say that one of the biggest crimes Hollywood has ever committed was to issue such a crappy remake of The Longest Yard.  And yes I know Burt was in the remake, but the original is a classic.  The remake... not so much.

    Just checked, and lots of his films are available on Amazon Prime right now, including the 1974 version of The Longest Yard.

    RIP Burt! I moved to West Palm Beach FL when I was 6 months old, told Mom and Dad that I had enough of the cold Ohio winters he listened so we moved south. Turn out it was the home of Burt, he attended Palm Beach High and our neighbor lady's daughter went to school with Burt. As far as I know it was October of 1956 when I arrived in FL, lived in Palm Beach County until 2012 and never spotted him in person, did have a chance to spend the evening at his dinner theater in Jupiter for a show one Friday night and due to a friend that personally knew Burt, myself and a date were in his personal box, served by his personal chef and when we said yes to a glass of wine he brought us the bottle twice! Wonderful dinner and show. Jupiter FL and the rest of the world will certainly miss him. He was very involved in the Palm Beach County Schools of the arts. He was always giving back in Palm Beach County, Rest in peace Burt

    I arrived in Florida in May of 1956 thanks to my Mom and Doctor Beale. been here ever since except when my Uncle made me wear green and told me where to go.

    I loved Smokey and the Bandit.  Now both Jerry and Burt are gone as is Jackie. They did wonders for CB radio and Trans Ams back in the '70s. Influenced some of my driving skills.
