  • Man I love Austin.  Try to get there as often as I can.  We were supposed to be there for the USC game in a couple of weeks but the dumb Dr. won't clear me to go.   Doesn't he know that I have bbq to eat and football to watch?!?!

Some people fly to Austin for BBQ, and some people just get Stiles Switch delivered to their office for lunch on Friday.

Being a stickler with these things, I had the person ordering get the brisket uncut, but then had to dig through boxes last night to find my knives....worth it.

For the record, brisket was very good, beef ribs looked dried out (didn't try one), pork ribs were awesome (but had not had the membrane removed), turkey was good.  Also, peach cobbler, something CLEARLY not on the food plan was very, very good.

Oddly, after all the green stuff I've been eating, I was also really into the tomato/cuke salad (plus feta).

Yep, living in Austin isn't all bad.
That looks legit.Good call on ordering uncut!

  • So who can tell me where I'm at?

Saw this on FB today from Mickelthwait. It said “Frito Pie is made to be topped with brisket”. Well Played Mickelthwait. Well played

Maybe so, but thay’re all the way ....(checks Google Maps)...nearly two miles away.  Kind of an awkward distance, too short to drive, kind of a long walk....

I guess I’ll have to get my bike in working order.  If only there were a bike shop nearby ....(checking)....0.2 miles away (owned by renowned doper but bicycle expert, Lance A.).

(Please be adviced that this gloating is just me crying on the inside without my fire-based cooking devices)

Keep looking for the silver lining.

Those of us who did butcher work in the Graj Mahal, who have never visited you in your new abode in Austin, still think of you as living in a nice big house in Houston with a really cool garage...

That's why I'm not going to come see you.

There are plenty of silver linings, and the new digs are pretty civilized. However, backbreaking labor will have to be an away game (Looking at you @The Cen-Tex Smoker (or http://feralaustin.com/)).

Welcome to downtown Austin.  Find a scooter on the street, swipe a credit card, leave a scooter on the street.

  • That brisket looks delicious @20stone

I'll have to check and see if Woodpecker's will sell a brisket uncut. My wife and sons love it and the few bites I have were great. But never considered getting it uncut.

Brisket is a perishable and best if you eat it as it’s sliced. Worth the effort if they’re do it.
