I’m not affiliated with the company in any way shape or form. I just use their oven to make pizzas. Wonderful, glorious pizza.

Do I remember you saying you had a difficult time getting the oven up to temp with the wood burner??

@JohnInCarolina It doesn't take long to discover you have become a pizza snob once you start getting results like the pie above. Am I right?
Have you cooked anything other than pizza? Anything like oysters, shishito peppers, steak, etc.?Coleman, Texas
Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

I’ve never actually used my own with wood. I don’t see the point really, aside from the novelty. The pies cook so fast the crust doesn’t have much chance to pick up any real smoke flavor.GATraveller said:Do I remember you saying you had a difficult time getting the oven up to temp with the wood burner??"I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

That may have been me but I can answer either way. It has no prob getting to temp with the wood burner but it is a pain to feed the fire tiny bits of wood to keep the flame consistent and cook at the same time. The way the oven is set up you get zero (not even a hint) of wood flavor when cooking with wood. It burns so hot the smoke is pure and the flame rolls across the top and heat goes right out the front. There is no way for the smoke to dwell like in a bgeGATraveller said:Do I remember you saying you had a difficult time getting the oven up to temp with the wood burner??
understanding all this, the wood burner is a nice novelty but gas is so much easier to use and produces more consistent results with zero effort. If you ever want a little wood flavor on your pies, you have a nice big green pizza rig right next to the RB. I have not even considered making pizza in my bge since getting the box.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX -

Went to that site and they are optimistic sellers. The first thing I saw was “how many would you like to buy”?
I saw John making awesome pizzas at BB3 on it. May take a while to pull the trigger. -
John sold a bunch of those at BB.

Edit: I did not use a discount code but Roccbox was out of stock for a few weeks and WS had them. I did get free freight from WS at the time (December) so it was around $50 cheaper and I got it weeks earlier than buying direct at that time.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX -
I want one of these so badly but I'm also wanting to save up for a Forno Bravo. Decisions decisions.

I hear you. Both kids are gainfully employed and are pulling their weight as best they can but these damn tuition bills are killing us. Priorities. I’ve got no real complaints that’s for sure.HeavyG said:
