I agree, I am going to "bake" the interior for 24 hours and speed up the off gassing then season it quite well, I know it can emit small amounts for some time, I think barking it out will do a lot.....

If you are worried about formaldehyde and other "chemicals", then you might want to take a look at what is in the smoke in your bbq.

I wouldn't worry about it.

@alaskanassasin, not really I am going to put a Weber Jr in there and run the temp up and get it to speed up the Off Gassing, I don't think it will be an issue after that I will be keeping it under 100 and "hoping" that seasoning with cut down on the porosity of the material---I will be keeping the door Open for quite a while

But it is an excellent point

I don't think formaldehyde outgassing is as much of a concern as it once was many years ago. I thought most manufacturers had switched to a lower emission process some years ago.

Plus, it's not like you'll have food in there for more than a few hours at a go anyway.

I love that it has wheels to make it portable. Can't wait to see it in use.

The wheels make it suitable as an entrapment/push down a hill/laugh hard and/or go to a funeral device.

It would be tempting to build a seat in there, with the smoke inlet underneath as a nod to the small square foot outdoor seating areas of the past

That's going to deliver some awesome eats. Be interesting to see how that osb works with seasoning
many years ago I had homemade smokers, wood frame with sheet metal screwed on. Did the job for fish, chicken, and burgers.

I'm thinking it will be fine, worse comes to worse I have a full sheet metal shop I could insulate and line with stainless

I want one.  @ikapigian that is great, and I second the idea of a seat in it.  I'd make that look as much as possible like an outhouse.

@Teefus A-MAZE--N pellet smoker , 9 hours 1 load no heat

Although I could easily set my mini in there for heat and smoke

I'm sure you are right @DoubleEgger , Heck they outlawed straws ... and come October 2019 the No Bail Law takes effect...thats right, non violent crimes you get to stay out of jail

I was at first @bilt01 but after it off gased it is totally a non issue with VOC's..It is well ventilated 24/7

Great for Cold Smoked Mac and Cheese...Tons of Bacon and I Cold Smoke me seasonings

There is so much formaldehyde in wood smoke I wouldn't think it matters.

VOCs are volatile organic compounds. Aldehydes found in wood smoke include formaldehyde, acrolein, propionaldehyde, butyraldehyde, acetaldehyde, and furfural. Alkyl benzenes found in wood smoke include toluene.
