OT-Best Live Show-OT

Scored pit tickets for Foo Fighters in KC. Will be my 5th Foo show. My live shows range from Motörhead to Phish to David Allen Coe. Wondering other shows were worth the price of admission? After 200+ my favorite was Deer Creek Pearl Jam 99.

There were so many. So many ways to classify the best shows. I think U2 in Boston, years ago, would be my favorite overall, followed closely by Pink Floyd. Eric Clapton and his multiple all star band shows.....There are others, such as multi-day, multiple artist shows. Bourbon and Beyond Blues Fest was as awesome as it gets.
Best venue, by far, Red Rocks. Any show there,could easily rate, best ever...

Having seen the Foo Fighters on TV at Glastonbury last year, I can imagine that they are amazing live.

Thin Lizzy at Derby Assembly Rooms (82 or 83) stands out for me, an amazing band and Phil Lynott (RIP) knew how to front a rock group.

Springsteen is also amazing live.  We saw him here in Raleigh and he played for three plus hours straight.

This. I saw the Elevation tour in November of 2001. Their 9/11 tribute was incredible.

I have about quit going to live shows except for one and to it we actually have been going twice per year, Greenville and Atlanta. Trans Siberian Orchestra is the most amazing, over the top, pyro and laser filled shows ever. Makes KISS look like ABBA. 
This year, we decided TSO, with all the special effects, overuse of pyro and video, has gotten to be too much for us, so will probably skip next year. Musically it is incredible, but the show is overwhelming the music, by a lot.

Oh, and the best concert we ever went to, musically? Eric Clapton, Journeyman tour, many, many years ago.

Hard for me to choose.  It would have to be one of the days during Memphis in May Music Fest circa 2008-2012.  I'm going to my first Foo show this summer at Wrigley.  I can not wait.  That will leave only the RHCP as my last bucket list band (as of right now).

Man I'm jealous. Foo Fighters put on a helluva show. They play every song with the same energy of the encore. I'm going to try and score tickets soon.

Best concert I've been to was probably Rolling Stones at Arrowhead a couple years back. I was in the 7th row. For a bunch of old farts they still rock

Foo Fighters is one of the only concerts I have ever walked out on mid show. Good show, high energy, but Grohl's constant use of the f word between songs does not cut it for me. I don't tolerate listening to crap like that. Never again.

I agree with CoMoBGE with Pearl Jam being the best concert I've seen live. Rage Against The Machine was pretty crazy in 08 when the Republican National Convention was here in town. Lots of arrests and police with riot gear everywhere. The most entertaining show is Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Definitely worth the price of admission.

Pink Floyd was probably the best show I’ve seen. Velvet Revolver is second. Eagles easily claim the title of worst show I’ve ever seen.

Last time I saw RHCP, they were terrible.  Just saying.

The last time I saw RHCP was in Prague. They were awesome. Just saying.

The most spiritual concerts I've seen have been the Ethnic Heritage Ensemble with Kahil El'Zabar (small jazz ensemble). I've seen them 3 times, and was blown away each time. Well worth seeing if you ever get a chance. For classical, I'd probably go with one of the times I've seen Rite of Spring or the Firebird performed. For rock, King Crimson in concert is really hard to top. But I've seen lots and lots of great concerts across many genres. These were just a few that stood out.

For once I have to agree with my liberal friend here, I’ve always been a huge Springsteen fan. I’ve seen him 20+ times, most of those in the pit.  His show at the Meadowlands last year was a hair over 4 hrs - no breaks. Pretty impressive for a 67 year old. Sometimes I even manage to get a pretty good spot in the pit:

Many years ago, in college, I was walking to class, and saw a small hand bill stapled to the bulletin board in the Whitehall classroom building, headlined with; "The Rolling Stone calls this band The Future of Rock and Roll." Reading further, it said "Student Center Ball Room, $5.00", along with the date and time. 
It was Bruce Springsteen, back in the 70's.

I had never seen anything like it before or since.

I had been to several other shows, and they were all over the top. But that show, that night, from a band I had never heard of was just so stunning.

5 bucks, and the band hung around and mingled with the crowd afterwards. Crazy.

He still makes several donations on an annual basis to a charity in Lexington called "God's Pantry."

He is or was a regular at the Rolex three day event, held in Lexington, and I am not sure whether or not his daughter competes in Equestrian events in there, but, he was always a regular when the events were on.

Yeah, BS&TESB, will always be a favorite for me as well.

That show sounds like it was probably amazing. I became a fan in 1980, but due to my military service I never got to a live show until the Rising tour in 2003. Have been making up for it ever since, much to my wife’s chagrin. A favorite was when my son and I flew to Chicago for a weekend and saw them at Wrigley.

Any of you Pink Floyd fans ever see Brit Floyd?  I went last year - seems their goal is to perfectly mimic the PF albums - and they do it.  Great show.

I'm a huge Springsteen fan too.  The very first cassette I bought with my own money was Born in the USA when I was in the 4th grade.  I've been hooked since then but only have seen him live 3 times.  I got a code for the Broadway show but Ticketmaster screwed me, hopefully he tours with the band next year.

Any Dead show while Jerry was still around..... too many to name. Saw Roger Waters Wall Live show 4 years ago, that was a bucket list show.

I’m a big fan of music, but rarely go to live shows because I’m typically disappointed.  Lots of over produced stuff, I guess. However, Rage Against the Machine at Red Rocks in 1996 melted my face off.

Saw the FF last dec in Salt Lake City, they put on a great show.  All time favorite was when I saw them in 2011 and Dave Grohl drummer for the openers because their drummer was out with appendicitis.  It’s the random awesome things like that that make a show unforgettable.  I prefer small venues over a large stadium but as a former grunge kid I can’t pass up a foo fighters show.

Garth Brooks puts on an amazing live show, the energy is contagious. 
That being said, my favorite live show that I have witnessed was Nazareth at Warnor’s theater in Fresno, 1979

I'm with whomever suggested best concert/music show...When I saw the thread title I figured not a bad opener for Friday eve what with the adult entertainment along the then fairly open border with Mexico in the late 60's.  Even animals made the cut.
