Of course not......it didn't fit the narrative.

I saw it on the news and in a few newspapers. What makes it distinct from any other routine (sadly!) crazy guy with guns event?

Apparently he was an occasional member of the church over the previous couple of years. He had a history of domestic violence. He immigrated to the US more than 20 years ago and had some apparently bizarre Facebook posts over the previous few months.

Maybe he had converted to Islam and become a "terrorist" in recent months. More likely it's just some mental health issues.

I think you should quit reading The Blaze. :)

Click on a few random newspapers and let me know how many of those still have any stories about "taking a knee".

I asked this in the other thread but I'll ask it here: when did kneeling become a show of disrespect?
I have done well to stay out of these political debates, but damn, this has to be one of the most ignorant questions I've ever heard asked on this forum. You truly live in your own little world.
It's extremely rare, but there a few boys, who post potty training, remain seated during both both pees and poops.  In medical terms, it's referred to as the "Freudian Slip", occurring during the Anal Stage.

  • I'm amazed that so many people from a country that champions it's first amendment, lose their **** when a few people peacefully exercise their right of freedom of speech.

It's always been a protest against racial injustice. Trump successfully muddied the protest by claiming it was 'against the flag / america' to turn people against the protestors. Mainly because in criticising racial injustice, Trump knows it's indirectly a criticism of his presidency, because he's fuelled racial prejudice and failed to shun white supremacists.

It is funny how quickly most of those same folks throw out the term "snowflake" towards others when it turns out that they themselves are such fragile snowflakes.

It's interesting that those screaming the loudest in defense of of Flags (TWO Flags in particular come to mind) seem to [willfully] forget what those flags really symbolize.

At that point, they're merely defending a tribal totem.  Discourse is futile.

  • @NPHuskerFL Not sure what you mean? Racism of course isn't new, but Trump's encouraging it and giving confidence to racists to come out of the wood work and wear their racism with pride.

People watch football to be entertained, not to be lectured on political issues and to watch protests,  this is the same concept in hollywood.  I dont care what cause actors champion...i just want to escape daily life by watching a game or a movie and to be entertained.    Entertainment in this country is going down the drain....

Maybe in the short run kaepernick jersey sales will spike but the nfl better be careful as it is losing big shares of its audience.  Sponsors are starting to pull out and the nfl will begin to feel it in the wallet.  When that lost ad revenue begins to really hurt the league, we will see all this protesting go away. By then it may be too late for the nfl

Football is a masculine sport played by violent  men who eat red meat.  We as a society love violence and displays of athletic capability that the rest of us cant perform.   If these athletes, who we look up to so much use their status to advance an agenda, those who truly understand the game, and who purchase the goods and services the league gets paid to advertise will tune out.  THEN we will all see real change...,,

Il make a prediction....nfl ratings will fall dramatically, owners will panic, player salaries will get renegotiated and idiots like maxine waters will blame trump and the culture of racism that she claims he created, you know, the same maxine waters who said putin invaded  korea....

This may already be happening as sheila jackson lee, who thinks neil armstron planted a us flag on mars has already called the use of the term sob racist...,,

Alla this outrage - 5 pages on this thread alone - about a few guys kneeling in protest,
yet precious little concern about the reason for their protest.

Our perpetually petulant POTUS continues to play his marks like a finely tuned violin.

I guess Vegas will be on the front page for a while - cuz if fits "a narrative"?

Alex Jones is saying this is a false flag operation, another wingnut (Root) with a national radio show called this event -

"Shooting victims everywhere. Shots fired at Mandalay, Trop, Bellagio, NYNY, Luxor, Hooters, Stratosphere. This is real thing. Muslim terror."

So was the old white guy that killed 50+ in Vegas last night was on a mission for ISIS? "Probably".

@HeavyG ISIS driven?  My first reaction was OMG all those unfortunate souls!  This gunman clearly doesn't fit the narrative of ISIS in my mind. A wackadoo with a heavy bore weapon with a mass lethal trajectory and an area full of innocent people enjoying music. Sad that the bodies aren't even cold and there's already a finger pointing game. For me I just find this entire event horrific and it makes me sick to my stomach. Very sad for all of the victims.
On the original subject. Yesterday I watched the Broncos v Raiders game. And although I can't stand the Raiders I hope that Derek Carr recovers.

Seems to be more like James Hodgkinson who shot up the Republican Congressional baseball team back in June.
