    I don't own one, but they're really very well-built cars.  I don't know where all of the hate comes from.

    Nothing wrong with the car. It's the drivers that are hated! Out here in sunny California, most of the Prius drivers sit in the fast lane at 55.

    Thanks for all of the encouragement and love for the Prius. The car truly is a sign of intelligence and manly strength. The food was awesome, only took one pic tho:



    Not the greatest park to grill at, but it is close to work.

    You beat me to it.  Why is it prius drivers always need to be in the fast lane - what the hell were they told when they purchased??

    @cookingdude555  - i'm sure you're the exception to the rule, and the inside of the hatch looks great.

    I don't understand Prius drivers that go slow. I still get 45mpg with a heavy foot so I drive pretty fast. Thing holds a ton tho. I've carried my Blackstone oven and griddle in there too. I tried a bunch to get a 26" Weber in there, but it won't go without taking the legs off.

    Great to be environmentally aware, and lower the emissions of hydrocarbons along with carbon particulate contamination into the atmosphere, hauling three charcoal grills.......... oh, wait.....nevermind, it was still a good idea.
    Yeah. More manly.
    I live in an area of Louisville that is Hippy/Tree Hugger central. I am 1 of 2 people in our neighborhood with a V8 truck and a gas Lawnmower. Mostly Minis, Prius and Subarus.

    I never got those cars. Around the same mileage as a 4 door Corolla/Prius with half the room. I can see the use over in Europe with smaller roads and tighter parking but here not so much.

    The European models get much better gas mileage.  When they brought these cars to the US they suped them up, increasing power.  The US versions are pretty dumb imo.

    Buying a Smart Car is a Dumb Move.

    Consumer reports and most of the car review organizations (I get a few magazine) HATE them.   They're worse than Fiat 500s, and that's pretty bad.  Unreliable, relatively poor mileage, drive like Trabant 601.

    I am convinced that the reason Prius drivers drive like Prius drivers is the dashboard screen that shows real time MPG. "Look at all the money we're saving, Martha!! And watch what happens if I take my foot off the pedal!!" =)

    Interesting comment about Fiat. Back in the 60s when I first started driving, I recall Fiat supposedly being the most popular car in the world. I guess folks liked rusty cars then because they were very good at that. Then, from 'most popular' to 'withdrawn from the US market'! For decades!

    And now they're back. To awful reviews. I had to laugh when I saw their first commercials. The 500 drives into the Med in Italy and comes ashore here. Guess they were getting a leg up on the rusting process.
