I'm sitting in ORD waiting for a flight.  I just found out that it's going to be 30 minutes late and I have to move to another gate.  I'm taking it personally and thinking that God must hate me.

  • The mistake you made here was actually posting this in the off topic forum.  If you really wanted to hear from the snowflakes, you would've posted it in the regular one.
Yeah I would ask the Buffalo to Buffalo this thread and start an identical one right above it in...Valentine's Day. Very underutilized.

Well, you're traveling through ORD on a Friday.  The delay and gate change is just rubbing it in.
    Love you bro!

I'm pissed BBC fired Jeremy Clarkson.  So what he punched a production assistant.  Who hasn't?

Does it take newspapers a long time to make it out to your desert region?

@blind99, one of these days we will get together.  I just learned I am going to be spending even more time in Chicago over the next year or two.  However, most of my trips are like this one.  I go from the airport to a meeting.  I work at the meeting until about 10 PM while we work through dinner or just grab a quick bite that is brought in to us.  I start the next morning at 7 AM, etc.

After 1-3 days of work we finish at 3 or 4 PM and I head to the airport...

It's a grind to be sure.  But that's not what hurts my feelings.  It's the airline delay that hurts my feelings.  Apparently, they shut down ORD a couple of times today because the snowflake employees aren't allowed to be outside in the lightning.

When I was attending Munitions School (IYAAYAS!!!) in Wichita Falls TX, we were told to not form up nor go to class one morning because of the lightning.  Yet, looking out the window, I could see all the on-base preschoolers dutifully splashing their way to kindergarten in their yellow slickers.   :o

Yeah, at a Texas A&M game a few years ago we had seats near the top of the stadium. A few minutes before kickoff they cleared the teams off the field and announced that there was lightning in the area (within 8 miles).  From the top of the stadium we could barely see a storm off in the distance. It moved VERY slowly toward us such that 45 minutes later it had covered about 1/2 the distance to the stadium. My daughter was feeling ill so we decided to take off as we realized it would be a LONG time before the game would start. We walked to her apartment and drove past the stadium about 45 minutes later on the way to a restaurant. The storm was right on top of the stadium. There was a lighting strike that seemed to hit between our car and the stadium.... but the game was going on. They had kicked off just before the storm got there and played through it. As we ate dinner we watched the game on TV and we could see the lightning flashing in the sky...

Here's an example of why some of those "snowflakes" aren't allowed to play outside when lightning is around  the tarmac.

Kinda funny when those "snowflake" athletes in the PGA evacuate to shelters near the golf course when lightning is near. Who'da thunk walking around outdoors swinging metal sticks in a thunderstorm might be hazardous eh?

Just to be clear, I totally respect airport employees and whether - and work/school-related weather rules.  I hope my sarcasm came through in my earlier posts.

That doesn't mean I'm enjoyjng my flight delay. My feelings are still hurt. Or they would be if I had any.

Foghorn's childhood therapist surgically implanted feeling-suppressing pegs in his neck when he was an adolescent.  Apparently the batteries still work.

Yeah. After hundreds of hours of that touchy-feely talking/therapy bullcrap he realized it was a waste of time. When the batteries run out I'm going to cry myself to sleep on my huge pillow.
