Paying homage to my older brother who is turning 70 this weekend......

He is having a party in the NC mountains which we are attending. There is an organized hike to an overlook of the Linvielle Gorge planned at 11:00 Saturday morning. This will be followed by BBQ and Bluegrass music. He is having the Que catered, but I volunteered to make the Banana Pudding for the event. My brother is a BGE'r but not a poster or member of the forum....that I know of. To my brother, the very Best of Birthdays....and some pictures of the naner pudding coming together.

Happy BD to that youngster!!! 70 was easy for me for some reason. Only problem is those mile markers seem to flash by faster and faster and my "3rd 70th birthday" is about to slap me in the face!

My wife is making banana pudding for a gathering we are going to tomorrow. She is using Paula Deen's recipe that uses Chessmen cookies, but she is substituting Girl Scout Cookies Trefoils for the Chessmen. What makes this recipe really good is the cream cheese.

My wife will be making nanner puddin for my party tomorrow. She has a new recipe that uses Cool Whip and it comes together pretty fast, But tastes a little better if it sits overnight.

That's not how it goes. The southern woman just says "Bless your heart" with just a hint of sass and then walks off. It's used in lieu of ripping someone a new one. True southern ladies don't rip new ones.
